In reply to <a href="https://www.mikerindersblog.org/29-what-is-the-ideal-org-program/#comment-490605">PeaceMaker</a>.

It might come to be that in the near future all orgs are manned by sea org personnel. In order to deliver scn services as defined by delivering training and auditing all you need is a couple of auditors, a case supervisor and a course supervisor. A few other sea org to fill administrative positions and they could keep the doors open. The cost of housing them might be similar to doing so in LA or Clearwater. Public non contracted staff volunteers might get compensated by being awarded various training courses and free case supervision for their co-auditing.

In the 1970s I worked at a mission for about a year and six months at an org. I can't remember exactly but I don't recall signing any contracts. Maybe I was considered part time or something but I could take any courses they offered for free and got free case supervision for any co-auditing I did and incurred no free loader debt.

If you go into a Catholic church you might expect to see a priest and some nuns with maybe a few laymen chipping in. Scientology orgs run by sea org with some laymen in the mix would have a similar appearance.

Rereading this, I'm feeling eternally grateful I got out (routed off staff well before my contract term) right around the turn of the millenia. I was able to be a mostly loose public, occasionally agreeing to come in to help out with something in a true volunteer fashion, but unable to be regged for anything (gotta love the trap they dug themselves with freeloader debt).

When I routed off I was already aware the "Tech" was full of contradictions and problems, but catching up a couple decades later everything Scn seems so much further on the insanity side of the scale,

The underlying problem attributed as “incompetence of staff” is vanishing interest in Scientology. They might as well be trying to sell beanies with propellers on top of them, or surfboard racks for VW bugs; the era of their being a hot fad, is long gone and they couldn't come close to recovering without some complete change of product lineup that tapped into current trends and interests.

They now seem to have a problem with even finding enough people to staff vast buildings with much larger requirements, that have been finished and appear otherwise reading for their "opening." Austin and Chicago have sat empty for a year or two, and previously they only managed to open Kansas City and Columbus by bringing in dozens of sea org members.
