No, they will not do any kindnesses like that. Yet, that would give them excellent PR and goodwill points. They will reg the living hell out of people for IAS donos because of the Philippines tragedy. They have promoted that they are funding a grant for VMs to go there. There are, really, a handful. They will give touch assists and do some good. These are good hearted people that do bother to go and try to help, however misguided we believe they are. But it’s sad that they are being used by the IAS, basically, as a front for fundraising. There is no transparency in the cult so they get away with this sham.
And stupid scientologists could demand transparency (of course, they’d be kicked out!), but still! But they’re content to keep the blinders on.

If member is broke, and can barely afford to get to the SP event, how the hell can they afford formal clothes? My pharmacist received a text while waiting on a customer. The text said her entire immediate family had been killed in the Philipines. It was a horrendous moment, and now I read that this so-called church is worried about formal gowns and tuxedos. They obviously could care less about the people in the Philipines. It is such an elitist, uncaring organization–they should stop this nonsense and sell a few tuxedos and ball gowns and buy some medicine and food for the people in the Philipines.

Just guessing Madora, but since everyone is having to jump through hoops just to get confirmed to attend (all to keep out the riff-raff I’m sure) I would imagine the same holds true with the food vouchers. If don’t have your special pass for the events you can’t get a food voucher. Just another security thing. Damn those people are paranoid!

The wording also makes it sound as if there are absolutely no restaurants in the vicinity that won’t accept cash or cc. Insane!

There are plenty of good and reasonable places to eat if you just drive a few blocks out of downtown Clearwater.

In reply to Cat Daddy. I suspect, as well, on the sits where *they* have been sued, they're going to take a fearful beating in every way one can imagine. In the past, simply keeping things slowed down by repeated legal postings, hoping against hope, that the suit filers will curl up and go away. It's not only not going to help any longer, but is going to encourage more and more such lawsuits.
