I like to simplify “Clear”. After a number of hours of introspection on one’s past, someone could realise that nothing in the past can affect them negatively in the present. This could happen in other practices or therapies and many people just live their life that way. The man on the street would say, You can’t change the past so just live for.today.” Someone in scientology or another practice or therapy might gain a, let’s say, “firmer” subjective reality on that truism.

Hi Jere – I only have the link I posted below. I mentioned trivia since it probably wouldn’t be of interest to a casual follower of scientology, but it might be useful to someone newly exiting scientology and sorting out their experience.

Maybe similar to yourself, I attested to “Dianetic Clear” around 1980 and probably had a “floating tone arm” for awhile. I think my number was in the 8000s.

For never ins, a floating tone arm is a description of when the needle on the e meter is so loose because the person is feeling so great that you can’t even audit them. It’s fun while it lasts.

Naaah, Tubby would have said SOMEthing rude and racist about the “aliens”. In fact, HE would be the alien at Target 2, but that didn’t stop his racist rants in S. Africa, Tunis, Greece, or the UK. If he IS there, I’ll bet you he’s already discovered the worst epithets in the local language.

Skyler, you’re not wrong. scn don’t see any value in a normal, ordinary [“wog”] education. Even when they “homeschool”, it’s a curriculum that doesn’t match the requirements of the real world,
and they’re as likely as not to get a piece of paper from a “diploma mill” which considers paying a few bucks the equivalent of an actual education.

In the meantime, I’ve worked with a few people who were ESL (English as a second language). SOME were more expert in our language than some of my co-workers who had English as their only language. Two Scandinavians I knew, in particular, could speak English with almost no noticeable accent, or at least less accent than my friends from South Philly or Jersey. Not that I can really detect accents; mine shifts all over the map, depending on who I’ve been talking to lately.

That’s not trivia when the topic is scn and ‘clearing’. Just wish I had seen the first part of Mayo’s thoughts on the subject.
