I agree. It’s so sad. We spend our money in the other surrounding towns …. I even tell visitors to by-pass Clearwater and head to St. Pete (lots to see and do/restaurants, etc.). Clearwater is a ghost town. (And the presence of Scientologists freaks us out!)

Wayne, there are many good, caring, decent people who are Scientologists. We here are protesting the Church of Scientology as an organization, its human rights abuses such as forcing abortions, harassing and otherwise punishing critics (this is a Scn doctrine called “Fair Game”) and breaking up families (this is a policy called “Disconnection”). I am glad that Scientology was able to help you and your neighbors when the city let you down. I’m also glad that you are not one of those unfortunates who was once a Scientologist and then decided to leave this religion and, as a result, lost your child, your spouse or other loved ones, your reputation or your job.

I’m glad you were helped. In SCN terms, the whole thing falls under what they call a “PR caper” it’s designed to make it seem good so people will think well of it and want to check it out.

If I were to become famous and make a statement like ” In Mormonism we have Jesus Christ at the top,then you’ve got Joseph Smith, then there’s Russell M. Nelson (current church president), then there’s me.”, it’s hard to tell how many church leaders would want to have a word with me about how inappropriate such a comment is. Yet I guess that when you’re really chummy with the Dwarfenfuhrer that you can get away with anything.
