I look so forward to these Friday topics. It's a great way for never ins to get a quick insider view.

Now, just because I love all of you here's a message a friend sent me:

Please, take care of yourself out on the roads this holiday season. A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related.

This means that the remaining 77% are caused by jerks who drink bottled water, Starbucks, soda, juice, energy drinks, and crap like that. Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents.

This message is sent to you by someone who worries about your safety.

Merry Christmas ? and Happy New Year!

(I was relieved though that it wasn't about senior citizens this time!)

Yes! i had the same experience. The "wasband" was all hyped up about this beautiful Hotel used by "old movie stars." It had roaches and no shower curtain. For the first time in our new marriage I put my foot down! OUT of this dump asap! Believe it or not I had my way & we went to a motel. It was tacky, but at last no roaches & a decent shower. I do not think we ever got our $ back since we had to pay for our stay up front.

If I were wealthy I'd fund a home for elderly, disabled Sea Org members who'd been fitness-boarded ( Cult-Speak for let go due to ill health, old age and/ or some type of permanent disability).

I'd have a compound - a number of beautiful buildings on a large, beautiful tract of land. There would be a trees and gardens and fountains and lawns. There would be clean attractive rooms with private full bathrooms. Couples could have a larger room. Each room would have a small sitting room attached and wifi and a computer and free internet.

There would be every modern assisted living facilities and there'd be dining rooms with plenty of nourishing, tasty meals served including afternoon tea and cookies and little sandwiches, etc. There'd be recreational facilities like a swimming pool and a gym, ping pong, and other senior type physical activities including exercise and physical therapy classes.

There'd be a HUGE comprehensive library (including all Scientology books and tapes that they might want to read), and i'd have THOUSANDS of movies they could watch . They'd be able to read all the great books they never read, see all the great movies they missed.

Their relatives and friends could visit anytime and eat for free and watch movies with them for free.

There's be parties, theme parties and events that were real parties and real events, where they could mingle, talk, dance, actually relax and actually enjoy themselves.

I'd have the place be near a major city like New York or Boston or San Francisco or Chicago where those who were able could travel to when or if they were able. Free buses from the compound would take them there, once a week, so they could walk around, go to museums, plays, and enjoy what the city had to offer.

It would all be free, unless the inhabitants were able to give something. That would be up to them.

If at any time they wanted to and/or were able to they could help with light chores but it would be their choice and it would not be expected of them.

There'd be rooms for hobbies - painting, woodworking - that sort of thing.

This would not be "out-exchange" . It would actually put IN the exchange for these people who worked for so many years, for so little, and with so little acknowledgment and appreciation, and no pension, no security for their declining years.

I would fund this entire enterprise and it would be a lot of fun, just letting these exhausted, frail, abused senior citizens live out the rest of their lives in peace and dignity and respectability. And last but not least, it would be fun, knowing that they were having fun.

The place would be only for ex-Sea Org members.

Actually, the membership should probably include long-term Class V staff too, now that I think of it. Indigent long term staff members who can't live on their social security...let me mull this point for a bit...

If I were uber rich, this would be a fun thing to do.

Allen, not to annoy you, or because I have any axe to grind about it, but why would any CMs deny sexcual abuse at the hands of LRH? Barring having been paid off by Miscavige, and unless they're still IN the cult, what would they be gaining by such denials?

Yes Chuck. So easily fixable. So many of the horrors and abuses are so easily fixable. But they obviously and completely don't care. But better they are so clueless and that it just dies!

Most of RB's episodes involve sea org or die hard followers. Maybe DM has conditioned his remaining followers to believe they're on a religious mission to save the world and spread good works upon the world. I never had any inclination toward any organized religion and Elron trashed all religion so I fit in. Calling scientology a religion kept "The Man" and the IRS off our back.

For about a year I rented a room at the Celebrity Center which was still called The Manor Hotel and undergoing renovations. A lot of the toilets and showers didn't work, wallpaper was falling off the walls and the furniture in the rooms was old and rickety. Nobody cared since we were "On Purpose".

In the late 1970's when I took some courses at the American Saint Hill Organization in LA I rarely saw any sea org personnel walking around in uniform. Someone else may have a different recollection. Apparently about 20 to 25 percent of all scientology "parishioners" are now sea org. Back then the last thing I was interested in doing was going to church. Things changed.
