Airline pilots are civilians. and as such are not required to salute anyone. Only military members are subject to customs and courtesies requirements. Enlisted are required to salute officers and warrant officers, and officers return salutes. The only exception to this — as far as I know — is the the President of the United States is required by custom to salute recipients of the Medal of Honor. Other than that, no civilian is required to render salute or to return a salute to a military member.

I thought that the original post was RB’s take on the scientology version of Ground Hog Day. In scientology every trip to the reg, ‘ethics officer’, course room, or auditing room is like Ground Hog Day. It’s the same shit over and over. What ex here hasn’t sat with cans in hand, getting ridiculous repetitious auditing commands thrown at them until your head is spinning and you’ll have just about any ‘win’ to get the hell outta there? We all went back for more hoping beyond hope that things would change and we would finally “get it” this time. That goes on and on and on and on and on until we finally wake up and see the reality of the scam and head for the exit. Quietly or loudly. The scientology version of Ground Hog Day is a brutal mind fuck. What a relief to be out.
