A dear friend of mine related a story to me about one of their part time jobs. They were doing a guided tour and one of the groups was a group of Native American children (along with some of their elders). One of the places they were going was an area where they related that this tribe would come to this area when winter came because the spring there was always flowing and it was a good place to shelter. They asked if any of the children knew why this place was chosen and one young boy raised his hand and said “Because we are Strong, Brave, and True”. I think strong, brave and true applies to all those here who found their way to a safer place 🙂

In reality it is always an individual experience. For my part, when I realized that it was all a rip-off and a scam then I felt free and validated all those insights I had already had but not dared to look at.
I have never personalized it by giving myself blame for having been there. If I had, I would have kept asking my ego to carry me around again on some other mental trip. LOL.

I can’t imagine when someone begins to wake up what an emotional toll it takes. Possibly the same stages of grief. It would take time to come to terms with what a person had dedicated so much of their life to.
