Those Eastern European countries can be very fanatical about their religions and as a result i couldnt imagine scientology doing well, especially the Christian Orthodox countries. Countries like Greece, Serbia, Cyprus etc would consider the group nuts and are not as accepting of other religions, despised may be a appropriate way to describe what they think of Scientologists.

For sure, it’s a personal flaw in his character to be upset by his shortness, and thus a “profitable” goadable target against him.

Yea, to me, the bigger long range public service that could be done is dissect and summarize the main Scientology beliefs, let them be judged by what they are.

The big omission still, is simplifying the “upper levels” specifically the exorcism levels, so that is more easily publicly consumable and understandable.

Body-thetans are merely bodiless souls that cohabit our lives because Hubbard’s beliefs are that these surplus bodiless souls each have their own memory “cases” which impact each human today on earth due to the massive number of these bodiless souls that infest us all and even make up our body, which is a problematic sub idea problem of Hubbard’s ideas of what body-thetans are to us.

That better simpler explanation of the body-thetans part of human existence and comparing it to other soul practices and religions today, it’s that supernatural status of souls subject comparison writing or paper or book about Scientology’s beliefs, that I think is missing.

There isn’t such a good chapter or book in existence.

Naive me always thought there would be such a book written about all the various religions’ and mystical groups’ ideas of the soul and the soul’s various theories.

Makes me wish to go read the OED’s definition of the soul today, Sunday, LOL.

Human history’s definition of the soul the context, and then Hubbard’s idea of the soul (and Scientology’s focus being the “case” alleviation of the soul being Hubbard’s mainline goal) would be my argument for the subject, were I there in Scientology headquarters, trying to dumb it all down through the Hubbard massive mess, to argue for the subject’s continued existence. (And were I in headquarters, I’d strip off the nasty chunks of the Hubbard whole mess out of the upkeeping management of this pseudo-science/exorcism subject).

…and of course we only poke fun at his shortness because it actually bothers him. If he was a mature adult about things then he’d be able to be comfortable with his size and move on. And so would we.

But Scientology stunted his emotional growth as much or more than nature and nurture stunted his physical growth. So he’s got a Napoleon complex. I’d be sad for him if he wasn’t such a POS. So instead i’m sad for the people around him who have to put up with him.

Too true but the reason that people hang on to the false ideas rather than listen to their gut feelings is that the lies are so much more empowering than the truth.

Dotey, I’m sure that you could continue on longer than the enterprise does, but you’re right, I suppose; we get the idea. But even when I was out and making good money, I had a beat-up old clunker known as a “beater” here in the North East: a car that we use in the Winter because we don’t care if it gets more dented and dinged. I also used ours to commute into the city. No one challenged my right to the lane I was in when they saw that big old beat-up old mud-brown Chevy vista wagon. Did I mention it was OLD?
