Lawrence, perhaps I should make clear that my once enthusiastic opinion of a possible Tom Cruise presidency has undergone a remarkable 180 degree change 🙂

I read someplace that a Tom Cruise presidency was discussed.

A few years ago I read – and I don’t recall where but I definitely read it – that about 10 years ago, a year or so after TC got the Freedom Medal, someone claimed that TC said to Miscavige, “If f***king Arnold (Schwarzenegger) can be governor (of California) then I can be president!” The inference is that the two of them were discussing this.

Also around 10 years ago when I was still very much in, a staff member (not SO) at my org, during a casual discussion we were having about U.S. politics, said that it was a real possibility that at some point Tom Cruise could run for president. I was surprised but pleased and told her I thought this would be marvelous. She nodded sagely and said something about how this was what the world needed, etc.

Now, where this staff member got this idea from, I don’t know, but there is date coincidence between what she said to me and what TC was reported to have stated to DM.
