I am presently of the opinion that Ron consciously and purposely sought to redirect the family bonding instinct to him and him alone.

The GE is a Family Man is Ron’s psycho-manipulative intention to undermine the cohesion and importance of family so he can have obedient minions that only see Ron as the object of bonding, with the result of seeing the family unit as a distraction to expanding Scientology.

Hi Ann, One of my favorite comments on this blog was when Roger Hornaday wrote. “IM, you’re not the only one who cringes at the memory of his cluelessly arrogant certainty. I once stormed out of the house when a friend refused to agree with me that Ron Hubbard was the greatest man who ever lived and I WAS IN MY OWN HOUSE AT THE TIME! I wouldn’t trade the experience of having been thoroughly brainwashed for anything. Of course I’ve had plenty of time to recover.”
I’ve experienced countless cringe worthy moments of storming out of my own mental house by taking on an arrogant or condescending attitude towards a friend or loved one simply they couldn’t agree with my Scientological point of view.
I believe that Scientology has driven all of us out of our houses on more than one occasion. And, yes Roger. I do intend to use it in a cartoon at some point after it stops hurting to think about it.

The woman’s name that you are referring to is Laura DeCrescenzo. Her lawsuit is still ongoing.
I didn’t know that ‘The GE is a Family Man’ was used on her to influence her decision. That’s horrible! Too bad she was only 17 at the time and didn’t know that LRH himself had seven children with three different women, which the church tries to keep secret from the parishioners.

Ms.P, I hear you. I used to go on course five days a week, 15 hours total. I would get pulled aside by my sups seniors and told that I “had to do more”, or that I should just leave my kids with my husband or a babysitter on the week-ends and “not be so focused on the second dynamic.” I was working as well and would do only one course period. Still, that was decent compared to a lot of other student’s schedules (which I kept up for years) and I was a hassle-free, productive student. Still not good enough, they always expect more from you.

The other one I would hear with regards to children is “playing with dolls.” I knew some public who joined staff and then they adopted these new ‘personalities’ shall we say. They would criticize other women who were taking care of their children and not joining staff, with “They are just playing with dolls.” It seemed a little antisocial. Children are human beings, not dolls.
