thank you. The “certainty in abilities” line really resonated with me. It was that certainty that kept me fully in and able to weather all manner of idiocies, traumas, injustices, and inconsistencies for the bulk of my life.

Having that suddenly evaporate has been monumental.

All things are possible.
And this blog is indeed a place to feel not so alone.

My jollies these days come from pre-dawn starts in my little boat motoring up a deserted river watching the sunrise. The way the birds and fish come to life is magic, not so much the mosquitoes at times though. It’s amazing to see kangaroos swimming across the river too. They don’t do it often but they do it occasionally – just their head sticking out with a v wake behind them. Lots of sea eagles and wedge-tailed eagles as well – big birds! It’s the most amusing thing in the world but sea eagles actually yap like a dog. It sort of goes against the grain, such a magnificent creature, all majestic in maroon and white, masters of flight (they’ll pinch your fish right off your line too – cheeky sods!) but yap like dogs. The pairs play a sort of tag game too, chasing each other through the tree tops. Yes, having sessions on water – pure magic!
