I would also imagine she is NOT going to risk the loss of her no doubt well paid salary for remaining as his legal rep……however, he might be at great risk because she KNOWS too much.

I think it is also to provide ‘plausible deniability’ to many of the truths about the Cult that are routinely exposed. If she were a member then she would have experienced the horrors of the cult herself and would have to perjure herself. Since she has not been a member she can honestly state that she does not know “that the beatings are continuing until moral improves”!
