I was in Oz years ago. Scientology was banned in at least two states. The only branch (org) then was the tiny one in a small (second floor) office space in Sydney.

Just from what Mr. Rinder posts in Thursday Funnies, I see that they have several others now. They may all be tiny, have very few members, but they are there now, so it is not a great thing.

One of the most memorable experiences of my life was attending the premiere at Sundance Film Festival and the instant standing ovation that went on for minutes — strangers every one of them packed into the standing room only theater. It was overwhelming and humbling and when we were called to the stage by Alex and Larry it was another rousing standing O. Phew, get emotional thinking about it. That film changed people’s perception in 2 hours.

On a personal note, during and after appearing on stage with Sen. Nic Xenophon and Bryan Seymour for a Q & A session with the audience (which OSA’s Virginia Stewart stormed out of), I had so many strangers come up to me and express sorrow for what I’d been through that the next morning I lay in bed and cried, – the first time I’d ever been able to drop the shackles of “being a trained OT” and actually weep for my lost daughters. Cathartic is inadequate to describe the relief.

Yes it would be wonderful if that version of Marty was still alive…
