You see – If you find out – you may be really pissed that we are going to pocket the cash and then make your fundraise for more money so you can expand in the current location you have been in for the past 20 years.

What a money making racket for Scientology.

I ran a company and know a good friend who is a commercial real estate broker and he said the real estate agent was instructed to put this out by David Miscavige so the Scientologists in St Louis never can find out what it sold for.

We were told we had to have the building in order to go Ideal and 11 years later – Scientology now says they don’t need it. Sounds like a scam to the Wog World.

The name calling is unnecessary. Transfusions do not save lives 100% of the time. Irregardless, we refuse them because the Bible says the Jehovah God doesn’t want humans taking in blood, whether human or animal. And as regards your comment on children, the law here disagrees with you. Would you want a doctor to take away your right to decide for your child on a course of treatment? The point i’ve been trying to make is a lot of people here seem to think that refusing blood transfusions is an automatic death sentence. It isn’t. Look up the successes of bloodless surgeries, ulternative treatments for yourselves, please.

Apparently they didn’t get any satisfactory bids – or else there is some sort of complex proposal in the works contingent on things like zoning approval and financing, which is what has happened with the Alexandra Hotel property in Boston. This shows that Scientology has bought a lot of white elephant type properties that will be very hard to sell and get their money back out of – even the ones that have been renovated, have been reconfigured for Scientology’s specialized uses, and may also not have much market value or be very attractive to potential buyers.

Kat, I don’t think they’re yet doing anything more than a bit of shuffling of deck chairs on the Titanic, yet. While they’ve now given up on two or three properties for sort of tactical reasons, I think their additional purchases for some of the orgs like Ventura (formerly Santa Barbara) and Albuquerque (another classic SFO) more than make up for it.

I suspect that total square footage owned – a figure Scientology proudly touts as supposed evidence of “expansion” – is one of Miscavige’s personal “stats” that he will not allow to go down under any circumstances. I have wondered if Scientology would at some point start to unload some of the many buildings it owns in the LA area, which have to be under-utilized and in some cases perhaps even virtually unused at this point, but then again they might not be able to unless they could come up with some sort of shuffle to keep that stat of total square footage going up.

ilea, you are just stupid if you think that taking a blood transfusion that WILL 100% save your life and is painless is equal to taking painful chemo and radiation treatments that are many times unsuccessful.

An adult can of course choose to die over a belief they have about a life saving blood transfusion but, if you deny a child life saving blood transfusion you are a criminal who needs to be hanged.

It’s good to see people are having a discussion rather than abuse flying back when questions are asked or things being brought up.
You’re post caught my attention because within the last few days I read about a woman who had passed away from breast cancer after choosing to go vegan instead of getting traditional treatment. She could’ve lived for many more years if she’d gotten the traditional treatment but instead has left behind a husband and child, only aged 4 or 5.
I find it very sad for them but also very selfish for her to leave behind a child so young to grow up without a Mum. As a parent I would do anything within my power to be around for my kids as long as possible.
My point is that as you can see this story has nothing to do with religious beliefs and I still don’t agree with it.
Thank you for trying to explain your position but also try to understand others in the sense that we don’t all disagree purely for the fact you’re doing it for religious reasons.

I realize that what you say is very likely true and that your opinion represents a healthy and moderating voice in this debate.

I’m afraid that I just want to see the sucker(sp) get arrested and thrown into jail. It has been far too long coming and I want to live long enough to see him get what he deserves.
