Not true, mwestern. I’m speaking from my observations. People I knew. 3 deaths, ages 58, 64 and 60, otherwise healthy strong physically healthy men, early on when Covid hit. All unvaccinated, not due to their beliefs but because there was no vaccine then. I was was exposed early on to Covid way before I got vaccinated, and did not get it. Its funny, unpredictable, this virus. Some, like me, were exposed and did not catch it. Others caught if and became mildly sick. One man I know, strong as an ox, became severely ill for months and took months to recover. And then, for others, its was a swift death sentence. A vaccine is common sense. The virus doesn’t care what you or I believe. Its just looking to survive. To do that requires a home, namely a body. Once it has a body, it either kills that body or if the body lives then the virus dies so the virus has to spread from that body to another body. This has nothing to do with political or religious beliefs. I consider that those who refuse a workable vaccine to have themselves a death wish – for themselves and others. Though again, some, like myself who were definitely exposed before being vaccinated did not become ill. I did worry about being an asymptomatic carrier though, and so as soon as I was eligible to get the vaccine I got it right away. We can agree to disagree about the vaccine and mandates for it, etc. We need not debate it here and we shouldn’t because its off purpose for the blog and Mike has been very tolerant of me so far in this respect. I know its a hot button issue for many Americans who consider mandating a vaccine by the government to be a severe and dangerous infringement on their civil liberties, etc. Again, we can agree to disagree.
