I doubt they ever had 138 staff. They may have had 138 staff there on the day Miscavige yanked his ribbon, but typically they import staff from other orgs and even the Sea Org to make the numbers look good. Many are gone in a few days, back to where they came from. In the first month a bunch are lost when they actually get their weekly paycheck and it is nothing like what they were promised. By now it is has probably settled down to reality. If there is anyone in Chicago who would like to swing by and take a peek it would be wonderful to hear…

Is there a progress report on the Chicago org since its two months now that the new “Ideal Org” has been opened?

Frankly I can’t figure out where Chicago could have gotten 138 staff…I heard about a recruiting event a couple of summers ago where the original ED spoke, trying to get people to join staff.

Most of the attendees were individuals even older than the former ED and not involved w/ the church for years. I heard it didn’t look that hopeful…

Patty, this Is typical of scn management. This reminds me of the Lausanne Org in Switzerland. Olivier Dufour and his wife Annie founded the Mission, then turned it into an Org and made it grow over time. Olivier was the ED while Annie was the D/ED. Olivier had charisma and excellent PR and savoir-faire. Annie had excellent organizational skills. They were well-liked and personal friends, beyond scn. They were old-school pioneers and capable. One day they sent two staff members to the FEBC for the positions of PES and HES, with the aim of expanding the Org. When these staff returned after years and a lot of expenses, they presented themselves as the new ED and D/DED. Olivier and Annie were removed but appointed as honorary ED and D/ED (or something similar). In practice, they eventually left the staff without even trying to fight, but you know how these things go, they had to stay quiet or face trouble. The new team didn’t accomplish anything worthy, in fact, Lausanne got worse. Olivier and Annie then went to Paris. Olivier died several years later while trying to close or unlock OT 7, while the last time I heard from Annie years ago, she was a public at CC Paris and I remember her like been sad inside. When I compare scn to a swarm of locusts, I don’t say it lightly.

Right. There are more than 80 countries over the world with no extradiction treaty with US. Just 12 in Southamerica. Something suggests to me that this last possibility is the most likely.
