One source that is believable and valid is from the diary of Anne Frank, a Jew who was sent to along with her family to a concentration camp where she died. She writes in her diary of Jews turning in their own friends etc in an effort to save their own necks. But as Mike pointed out, the Rater became the Ratee because Karma kicked in.
