I suggest picking up a couple of books cheap through Amazon/Ebay – Self-Analysis and The Handbook for Preclears, for a good overview of what it is basically about. Forget all the stuff about “religion”, cult, etc. Just look at some of the basic materials that outline where Hubbard was coming from.

To make a long story short, I guess I was lucky to be dealing with old-timers at my local org, I had known since the 1980s, and I had a medical condition which meant I was not likely to ever be able to use the money I had on account.
I did first talk to one of the KOTs(Keepers of the Tech) at Flag, th eolder one there, because I thought my money was there, but it turned out it had just been a “courtesy transfer” (no money actually sent from the local org). I started out coming on strong saying I would write a complaint to the BBB etc, which he clearly didn’t want me to do, but once it became clear the money was still with the local org he just directed me to deal with them. They returned it promptly. But I must say, Flag had already tapped me for a set of the Basics out of it!
Jerks.

I have a few questions that maybe ya’ll can help me with. I am not a Scientologist, but am curious. I did read Dianetics in college, (years ago) and now have some poor child, whose name I forgot, sending me letters, emails and requests to buy this thing or that thing, and asking about my wins, gains….etc. Anyway I told this poor soul that I would file a Harassment Complaint if the Detroit Org did not leave me alone, but I digress.
How can your leader lead when he doth not practice his religion? Is he not a Heretic? And how or who does he have in high places because of all the illegal activities he orders committed, (in his name). The Mob did not have it this good, nor the KKK, or any other cults. Who protects this man?

Still interested in learning more about Scientology, but do not wish to be inundated with the traditional garbage that goes along with trying to learn about this religion. Suggestions as to what to read, or anything?

As far back as I can remember, all staff were awarded free Annual memberships (while at the same time continuously urged to pay for Lifetime memberships). So this brings up a good point. Even staff are being counted in the membership numbers and, of course, that makes sense as they are members but come on it hardly represents the teeming masses, yearning to go free with Scientology.

Miscavige’s ethics presence is an oxymoron.
