I am no Internet expert in any way, shape or form , but I think that by paying big bucks any entity can appear in the first 3-6 items of the search results. Just under 2 years ago, I made the experiment of Google searching Scientology to determine what type of search results I got. If I remember it correctly, Scn was only in the 1st or 2nd at the most , search result immediately followed by what they call "entheta".

Now two years later, they are in the first 3-5 search results with probably (I have no data on this) several thousands invested in a monthly or yearly basis ; a VERY poor return on investment.

There is no way in hell that anyone searching for Scn in the Net wouldn't stumble accross this "entheta" under 5 mins of his search time.

The Oldman was right in many of his assertions even though that he seldom applied his own principles to himself. One of those right assertions is found on HCOB 13 August 1970 , PR Series 2 , "The Missing Ingredient".

Its 8th parr reads : "Older practicioners preferred lies. They used circus exaggeration or black propaganda. They sought to startle or intrigue and the easiest way to do it was with exclamation points 'facts' which were in fact lies". End of quote.

Of course, LRH was looking at himself at the mirror when he wrote that. But he was right about that, though.

Next quote from the PL :

"PR, dedicated to a false reality of lies, then becomes low A , low C and recoils on the user".

A = Affinity , C = Communication

Next quote :

"The more lies you use in PR the more likely it is that the PR will recoil".

"Thus the law : NEVER USE LIES IN PR."

"Don't tell a lie to city officials when the truth is just as easy to tell. Why go to all the work of dreaming up a lie ? If you do, it will weaken you if it is found out that it is a lie. Now you do have a problem with the 'official public' ". End of quotes.

So from my perspective , the explanation for COP's failure with the Internet is totally explained on those quotes. LRH's own failures are explained by those as well.

Any lie will sooner or later back-fire on the lair.

The Navy V the Sea Org.
The purposes of religion and military are radically different from each other and should never be combined, ever. Think Islam maybe.
The primary function of the Navy is to put well trained personnel in ships and airplanes to go out and intimidate others through its presence or threat of deadly force. Ships and planes are incredibly expensive.
It does not directly finance itself but it has a gigantic budget and the staff gets paid like clockwork. The food quality ranges from a well balanced good to excellent, 3 shifts, and 24 hours a day. They would never punish the crew by starving them with rice and beans. That would be crazy wouldn’t it? Starve people, they gone git sick and die or blow.
Eighteen hour days are not common except when some group is perceived to need punishment for arcane reasons known only by the top brass. Incidentally, the USN actually runs the whole show from space on down.
The primary function of the Sea Org is somewhat different. Scientology was to help people to evolve spiritually, raise awareness, go clear, get to OT, and help others achieve similar goals.
Why the word Scientology that few could understand was chosen to awaken people, when the word ruffled so many feathers is a question that I can only rationalize about. It doesn’t sound religious or spiritual or come with a warm and fuzzy onramp.
The tech is good but requires a leap of faith for most to just hang in there until the lights go on.
If raw public ask questions they are referred to the tech which is probably why they asked the question in the first place. The sups were evasive because they were in fear of using “verbal tech”. Maybe the sups didn’t understand it either.
Uniforms are necessary if for no other reason than to know who and where your people are and what their function is, especially in the fog of war. Drs’, nurses, waiters, teams, bus drivers, etc. also wear them, and it eliminates confusion.
They are designed for practical application, nothing there that doesn’t need to be there. They are also designed to be easy to stow and clean without tangling up the laundry equipment on the ship. (One does not wash his own clothes or fart sack (bedding) on a ship). Your name is stenciled on your stuff to discourage its potential invisibility.
Civilians get edgy when they see uniforms coming their way; it looks like a big mystery sandwich to them. Black swat teams usually mean we gone die.
Orange or black and white stripes mean prisoner.
The various ranks and stripes and badges are worn to show the chain of command to prevent confusion so nobody has to try to figure out who is in charge. They are earned through longevity, training and experience.
On aircraft carriers that have 3500 to 6000 people on them special clothing is worn on the flight decks like jerseys to show who does what.
We always knew, who was who and what was what, we trusted the system.
To, put military uniforms on civilians, fucks them up because they don’t understand the entire tech behind it and why. So they pretend to be military, get serious and go out of valence and PT. Black, white, black and white uniforms or white coveralls restimulate a lot of people below threshold on the time track.
Uniforms mean a third dynamic and reduces the first and probably the second as well.
Sea “Orgers” should wear “civies” on dry land and uniforms limited to operating crews on ships. I had to buy my own uniforms, pay to clean them or pay others to do it.
Liberty: What liberty? You don’t get libs in the S.O. Libs? Yeah, four hours off on Saturday morning to do laundry?
Navy muster: They are done at the beginning of a shift, after lunch and in the evening or end of shift. The reason for muster is to account for all personnel.
On a ship one can fall overboard, get washed off or blown off the flight deck, especially at night. If someone is missing the ship will retrace its path as best it can to try to find that person.
On dry land it is different but they still want you back. You are worth $60,000 and up to train so they want you back to fulfill your contract.
You don’t have to pay a freeloader debt when you leave, they probably figure that you have given enough already.
Schools muster because they are accountable for the chirin, nuf sed.
S.O. Musters? Why? Maybe they don’t trust the staff members or maybe they are in a permanent state of emergency created by Demented Misanthrope his-self. They wouldn’t need to muster if everyone bought their own GPS ankle bracelets.
Civilian Corporations don’t do musters,do they?
Employees aren’t likely to blow if they are getting a predictable paycheck. Hello real world.

In reply to <a href="https://www.mikerindersblog.org/scientology-internet-fail/#comment-99237">T.J.</a>.

Thanks for commenting RogerHornaday, I wish I did have a plan to rescue... but I don't have a clue. Cults are a strange force, it's really hard to break someone out of that mindset, no matter what group they have joined. I have no answers, I'm sorry.

Dawn, thanks for your reply as well. I believe your story is common; many people in the group are like the one you spoke about. I don't need to be right, it isn't a question of right or wrong, these are just my feelings on the matter. I urge, in most things in life, for people to try to be compassionate and caring. It's just in my nature, if it's appropriate or not, I tend to do it often and stick my foot in my mouth, irritating people. Maybe some people will think about what I've said, or maybe they will feel as though those inside don't deserve it. Everyone has a right to their own opinion on the subject. I hope people are able to leave the cult of their own volition and make a life for themselves. Yes, it would be nice to see it happen, I agree.

Shelley, no offense was meant by my post, I didn't intend to sound as though I fault you for anything, I don't, and I apologize if it came across that way. I will be the first to admit, I am not very articulate at times and don't word things very well. If only what's in my mind could be easily translated into written form, or a *virtual hug* given out, it would come out better. This is an emotional topic for sure. You are certainly entitled to your own feelings and to express them, it's enlightening to read your comments, and I get the sense that you have been mistreated by some of those still in somewhere along the way and still feel annoyance at that, very understandable if so. I'm not defending the actions of anyone still in, or making excuses, just saying that we should consider the insidious nature of cult control and try to be charitable and encouraging when (or if) members finally are able to break out. If you are not so inclined, you may have a valid reason, it's your prerogative, and again, not trying to preach to anyone or tell you what to do. I don't agree with the actions of the current leader of the cult or those who do his bidding. I'd love it if everyone there would suddenly step up and say, enough is enough, we're done with this.

Ann B., you are always kind in your comments, thank you.

I don’t agree with the actions of the current leader of the cult or those who do his bidding. I’d love it if everyone there would suddenly step up and say, enough is enough, we’re done with this.

Ann B., you are always kind in your comments, thank you.

In reply to <a href="https://www.mikerindersblog.org/scientology-internet-fail/#comment-99237">T.J.</a>.

I hear what you say, T.J. I didn't say people should not be helped - I said the time for excuses of why one stayed is drawing thin.

The fact is that ALL of us left. Not everyone was subjected to same hell as those I mentioned - they were the true heroes. For every one of them, hundreds of others exited the doors for many different reasons - we all eventually could no longer ignore what in front of our very faces.

Just as I observed the insanity and craziness, so did many others who observed exactly what I did and yet they remained in. Why? I had friends & family who nattered more than I about the state of affairs in our church but when I was nailed, they turned their backs on me and disconnected without a 2nd thought. Some of them even cheered at my downfall. These were lifelong friends. Don't expect me to hold a pity party for them when they exit in years to come - broke, broken and minus gold teeth - just as Mike described.

I was on staff - the PES of Joburg org. I spoke to hundreds of public - I was lambasted with natter, upset, ARC broken & seriously upset public and staff. I can comfortably say that 80% of the people I dealt with were seriously pissed off and upset and KNEW that things were not right. But did they make a move? No. They keep their heads down and won't muddy the waters for fear of losing their "freedom". And yet they know.

If you see the "greatest religion on the planet and the ONLY way out the trap" declaring people left, right & centre, involved in dirty OSA tactics & the decimation of good people and you don't question or take action - as LRH said one should, then I'm sorry - you're either an SP yourself or you're utterly dead spiritually.

Don't forget - David Miscavige is not doing this alone. There are many people still flowing power to him - just like Hitler. He did not personally kill 7 Million Jews on his own - he had plenty of help.

Hi Dawn,Very good to meet you.Your post is very true and it does give one pause because I would not wish ill treatment on anyone still in,save one.Sometimes that situation can cause one to suddenly see the big picture and blow.I do so hope your friend has some kind of cognition at some point. It may start if he got ill and the only treatment was mega vitamin doses, saunas, and running.Years ago I had no doubt that what I was doing in The Sea Org was saving the planet carved in stone one billion times, yet I blew when I saw the true nature of the cult not the side the still ins etc see.Take Care,Ann B.

Yes, Dean, I"d like to know this, too.

The person I spoke about above is in the SO so does not have access to the internet.

Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do or say so that he'll at least hear me out and, just maybe, have a realisation?
