Maybe you know. I have asked and asked and get no answer. Claire seems to have passed in 2015. John and Dan fell off the radar. Do you know what happened to them? There also is a new story about an Erin Woodruff (as a child in the cadet org) but I have no idea who her father is/was. I knew Dan and his first wife Cindy … but not the second wife. I knew John and Claire, pre-wedding and pre-kids. You mention Todd (that I know pretty much nothing about) but Shane is the well-known son in the sea org from all the chatter. Their female child (Stacy) seems to have escaped the cult? And Dan doesn’t seem to have had any kids, unless Erin is his. Erin’s mother is named Pat Hammersen, and she’s definitely still in. Just to add to the never-ending sea org confusion, Pat Hammersen and Pat Selle Bromley (seems to be two different people) were both married to someone named Bruce Bromley. He may be out.

It’s much easier to rip off the mentally ill if they’re not getting help.

I know this because this cult convinced my sister that she was fine and stole who-only-knows how much money from her.

It was difficult to watch this documentary because of how close it hit to home and it’s sickening to see the insidious lengths this cult will go to rip off the most vulnerable.

My parents were on staff in Washington D.C. in the late 50’s early 60’s. They went to England after I was born and were training there. They divorced after being there two years and my brother and I and father traveled to Michigan, where we were turned over to any cheap baby sitter who didn’t mind watching us those long hours. We were eventually separated, my brother going off to live with my mom and her new husband in California. I lived at a few Scientologist’s homes while going to grade school and never went to a single school for more than one year. I have abandonment issues!

Excellent exposure of a cult that has nothing to do with religion. I cannot believe that the government doesn’t take them down. It is obviously only a big business scamming its members.

I escaped from a real religious cult in 2007. I can relate to so much of what Leah and Mike have said. I understand how the brainwashing affects people and why they have so much trouble leaving. Exposure of all the abuse will hopefully open their eyes and help them to escape.

I wrote a book, which was such a catharsis and allowed me to be free. I would love for Leah and Mike to do an episode on escapes from other cults, for comparison to Scientology.
