TomnotCruise I couldn’t say how many were really there. 10,000 was a figure that popped into my head and was probably planted there 🙂 But there were certainly many thousands.

I’m much more calm being out. When I was in, it was always “CALL TO ARMS!!! GERMAN PSYCHS!!! ENEMIES AT THE GATE!!!! STOP THE SPS!!!!!” Etc. ad nauseum. There was always some “enemy of scientology” who had to be crushed or else.

Always, the solution was give over some more money.

The crap in the daily newspaper is nothing compared to the onslaught of bad news scientology put out in order to raise money (every week by Thursday at 2).

am I reading this right? … at the Portland Ideal Org opening misscabbage took credit for Portland Crusade handling? (and yep, I was at the crusade and used to be happy and proud and it means just nothing now. I wasted a chance to hang out and see the beautiful city!)

I imagine some MAA proof-reading their emails so that they all contain the “trigger words” … but I digress. I don’t know of any other organization that spouts such hype except maybe the pyramid scheme messages I get on my voicemail, or the late night infomercials or maybe the new Star Wars when it came out. But there is no way their news could be on the same level as Star Wars. Grabbing the popcorn to watch the spin doctor turn an ant-hill into Everest and sell it. Watch the fools spoon it in, or face the MAAs on the way out. Hilarious times. Yet sad.

Not Martin Samuels, maybe the lawyers that were benefiting from the lawsuit. Someone was afraid that if the refund was issued, then it would open the door to further refund requests. Refunds were given all the time at the missions. But once Julie filed her lawsuit, giving the refund was out of the question. I heard that this came down from management.

It is complete poppycock that anyone handled the Portland lawsuit single handedly. The biggest kept secret was that it never had to happen. All Christopherson was asking for was a refund of under $2000, but Miscavige and upper management refused to authorize it.
