No, but it was noted that a SNL writer was a regular commenter at Tony’s Village Voice blog on Scientology a few years back. There is a wealth of material online about Scientology, most “in” members actually don’t know that much about the cult’s inner workings, absurdities and abuses. (They aren’t allowed to know or ask about such things.) I’ve never been a member, only a voracious reader about the cult for many years, and I easily knew all the associated trivia with that skit. Tony Ortega is a virtual encyclopedia of CoS history and stories but has never been a member. Lawrence Wright, Paulette Cooper, Tobins and Childs, etc… all never members who know more about the cult than almost any current or former member.
