Sadly, the lawmakers, the priests and teachers, all the “pillars of the community” recognized that if there was a statute of limitations, they need merely lay low long enough that their crimes might be lost or forgotten, essentially “forgiven”. Sadly, THEY won’t change their ways unless the punishment is too dire to be faced. If what I’ve heard is true, those types have special, possibly even fitting, punishments awaiting them in prison. And what happens after death is entirely their own faults if you believe the “big guy” DOES judge everyone.
I happen to hope that their karmic imbalance catches up with them sooner than later; or perhaps “sooner, THEN later”.

In reply to Briget. It's not as if Mike doesn't have enough to keep him busy, but then he takes on THIS too-needed assistance to victims. Please remember to hug your kids extra tight tonight, and tell them WHY. Without the WHY, they could get confused.

Trying to get over a traumatic part of your life can be
very difficult. 16 years out of the cult Scientology and
I still have nightmares (close to nightly) about being in
the SO. Only good thing is to wake up and experience
how wonderful life is away from that madhouse.
Imagine being under the thumb of a madman AND
being a child! Thank you Mike for helping out on so
many fronts.

There should NEVER be a statute of limitations when it comes to Child Sexual Abuse. The child is the VICM of an adult’s proclivity for sexual activity with a child.
Grooming starts immediately once the perpetrator selects the victim, being nice, spending money & time on the child…..being the “best buddy, Grandpa Uncle, Dad substitute……building complete trust with the child. I knew of a man who married the woman to be close to her beautiful 15 year old daughter & would go after the girl when the girls mother was out shopping etc…..the girl nearly had a mental breakdown because her “tellling” broke up that recent marriage of 4 months..

YES women sexually assault children too…..just a reminder on that as well.

Many times it is a close relative, friend, neighbor, mom’ s boyfriend, or someone running a sports group or church group where the person is ALSO a trusted member of that society. It can start with something as simple as a pat on the shoulder, pat on the head, an “innocent hug”…..then the touching begins just as innocently as a “slip of the hand”……

Since I’ve worked for CPS for many years….I’ve seen & heard it all….the youngest victim was 3 months old…..the eldest 17….all targeted to provide pleasure for an adult. I’ve seen kids given to an adult as a TRADE or PAYMENT for DRUGS…..I don’t think I need to describe HOW that goes.

If someone is showing TOO MUCH INTEREST in your child….RED FLAGS & warning BELLS in your head should be DEAFENING…..

Remember that children are often times threatened with harm or harm to their family should they tell….this would include treats of death. Perpetrators also “remind the victims that they’ve been so nice to them, doesn’t the child want to be nice back????”…..nothing like guilt tripping a child to cooperate with being sexually assaulted……..disgusting.

EVIL IT DOES EXISTS & THE DEVIL LOOKS AFTER HIS OWN….. Recently our newspaper printed the names of several Priests who have been exposed as pedophiles….BIG PROBLEM….FIVE or the SIX are already DEAD….they will NEVER pay for their crimes. The church will pay off the VICTIMS.

You CAN forgive if you choose to do so…..FORGET….that never happens.

New York extended its window for child sex abuse victims to sue their abusers. It was to end around Nov 1 2020, but has been extended for an additional year.

I am not aware of any claim being made against the CO$ in New York. But such a window in SOL in Florida could see a lot of claims against the CO$. Sadly, the one sex abuse case against the CO$ in Florida was derailed by the court and a victim who couldn’t keep the suit going.

There must be more CO$ victims, but I am not aware of any other cases in Florida.
