Line after line plucked from the imaginary world of ideal orgs…
The first para seems almost normal, and it falls to pieces immediately thereafter.
I think the Idea Org strategy is the smartest, most intelligent strategy possible.
And the facts that led you to that conclusion are?
After 13 years not even half the orgs have achieved this preliminary step to “clearing their area” and not a single “ideal org” has significantly expanded or opened new missions and groups in its zone. Many cannot pay their bills. Most are completely empty.
And then there are all the buildings sitting around rotting and accumulating unpaid property taxes.
But apart from that, you are certain this ideal org strategy is brilliant because though LA Org has been declared the “model” ideal org and has been announced “ideal” twice and SH Size — it wasn’t really doing anything at all, so the brilliant COB sent 200 Sea Org members to collapse the Day and Fdn and turn it into a Sea Org Org. And that is now the new and improved “model” ideal org. Are you planning on turning Birmingham into an SO Org? Doubt you could round up 200 SO Members in the UK even if you took everyone from the CLO and AOSHUK and IAS and other assorted hangers-on.
With an ideal org in Birmingham we will also create a fantastic impact across the UK.
Hmmmm. If that was the case, why haven’t the two ideal orgs in London (Day and Fdn) had any impact? They have been operating in the nation’s capital now for 10 years or so? If you’re not feeling the impact from that, then why would your org in Birmingham have any impact on the rest of the UK?
Having an idea org in Birmingham means we will have a position of influence in the society.
Sorry to break this to you Sue, but the ONLY people who think a building somehow makes you big and important are bubbledwellers. And snobs.
But let me pose this question. If you have all these universities and young people and artists and businesspeople and sports people, ballets, orchestras and top football teams — what is holding you back from helping them now? Are you really so condescending that you think all these people would run away from the “only route to spiritual freedom” and “man’s ultimate answers” because your reception desk is not custom built and you don’t have marble floors? Have you ever considered that for something that espouses the pursuit of the spiritual and freedom from the trap of MEST, that over-the-top MEST could even be a turn-off?
Really, have you EVER stopped a minute to think about anything related to this subject Sue?
Having an idea org in Birmingham means the future proliferation of orgs, groups and missions throughout the Midlands.
Oh Sue. Since the ideal orgs opened in London the Celebrity Centre London disappeared, “absorbed” into London Org. Not a single new org has opened in the UK in more than 30 years. Since the London ideal org burst onto the scene, not a single Mission has opened. Nor a Narconon. Nor anything at all.
In fact, in England, Wales and Scotland there are only two Missions listed on scientology.org — Bournemouth and Southampton. Yet in the 1992 edition of WIS? the following missions are listed: Wirral, Cambridge, Carlisle, Chichester, East Grinstead, Fleckary, Hove, Kendal, Leighton Buzzards, London, Norwich, Poole , Southampton, Cornwall, York and Cardiff. That is a reduction of 14. I would hazard a wild guess that the strategy pre-1992 was far more effective at proliferating orgs, groups and missions than the “ideal org” train wreck.
I mean, what are we waiting for?
Really good question Sue. What are you waiting for to wake up from the dream world you are living in?

Also, many companies that have to communicate highly classified data rely on Quantum Encryption to ensure that messages are not intercepted and read while en-route to their ultimate destination. This relies on the quantum mechanics “state change” mechanism…
Roger Hornaday says
A good example of a “crackpot theory” is the so-called reactive mind of scientology. In truth it isn’t a theory it’s a belief. It is “crackpot” because it doesn’t explain anything that can’t otherwise be explained. It isn’t a necessary concept, in other words.
In science their aren’t any “crackpot” theories because in science a theory is an explanation that is based on evidence and it provides a service. The service a scientific theory provides is that it explains things that would otherwise go unexplained without it. Predictions can be made time and time again using the theory and so whether it is wrong or right it works. When the theory no longer provides that service it is abandoned having been disproved but that is a rare deal.
I’m sorry you’re angry I wish there was something I could say to make you feel at peace.

I love it Mike. Especially the points about MEST, the actual stats, and your use of “dream world.” In today’s DIY world with start-up trends and bare-bones style, what makes scientologists think they have to be so ostentatious and gaudy when providing the only real answers and solutions, other than because miscavige has a huge ego and the orgs are a reflection of him, and because he wants more real estate and managed to sucker in a couple thousand people to believe it’s needed. Stats speak for themselves. Ideal orgs just take the religion angle ron used to new extremes. Really all the buildings are doing is putting on more of a show to help hide the truth (after all if the tech really worked the way ron said then scientology’s stats would be through the roof, not only due to demand of superhuman results yet to be attained, but also due to the wonders of the administrative tech and ron’s wisdom of letting miscavige work his way up the org board as much as he did while ron was still alive and working with him). Please do wake up because reality also speaks for itself. Yes it’s a brutal truth and I don’t like having to help convey that scientologists’ purposes and their resulting actions are built on lies. But I know that no one would be a scientologist if they actually knew the truth. And there is a whole new world outside of that narrow, narrow, narrow view that scientology insidiously collapses your vision and mind into. A world with more than one “solution” to every problem. A world where you aren’t always the one who is wrong. A world where bad circumstances aren’t always caused by you and you can change them for the better many different ways. A world where overts don’t actually always lead to more overts, because people can and do learn from their own mistakes all the time and on their own. A world where working your way out of a “lower condition” (rut) doesn’t require that you seek the approval of others. A world where past, current and future circumstances can have less burden on you when you address them without guilt, fear, illogic, limitations or lies. Thanks again Mike for all you do.

Once our Org is ideal and the staff and public have a building they can truly be proud of, the Queen of England and Parliament will be doing introductory courses and the rest of the country will follow their example. Soon the United Kingdom will be clear, then Europe, then the planet! It’s that simple!!!
Phil: Sue, wake up, wake up! Meal break is over. Time to get back on post! We only have 3 public on course.
Sue: Damn, I must have been daydreaming again. Now I’m more certain than ever we need to have an Ideal Org. COB is so right!

I think that David Miscavige is obsessed with Scientology not losing its tax exempt status.
I think he considers the recognition of Scientology as a legitimate religion with full tax exempt status his only real achievement, and is terrified of losing it.
I think he is operating on an actual policy of “by any means necessary” to ensure that the Church of Scientology does not lose tax exempt status on HIS watch, because I think he considers this his legacy.
Roger Hornaday says
Humanitarian with Honors, Sue Harrison, has listed some reasons why Birmingham needs an Ideal Org and why it’s a good idea. Although all the reasons she listed were excellent I think one deserves to be singled out as especially inspired.
It’s the one where she says an Ideal org will allow the church to take its place in Birmingham society (like a debutante?) and be able to host all sorts of MULTI-FAITH conferences or whatever.
Scientology hobnobs with high society? Scientology hosts multi-faith conferences?
Okay, what’s so strange about that? I mean, aside from the fact that it’s HILARIOUS to think about?
I Yawnalot says
It looks rather ominous that the days of lower org staff members are numbered. The mechanisms of enslavement to the cause have always created financial and personal hardship but now the lies are catching up with them and being hypnotised alone is simply not enough. Kind of like when an invader forces the conquered population into their army, getting them to fight effectively is virtually impossible.
I’m seeing a slow but very sure transformation that only an SO contract will be acceptable in the long run. In the universe of dm and his cronies this is the corner they are painting themselves into and is their only solution to man their expansion (spelt contraction). No new public (well intelligent ones away) will last very long and if they do, they are at the stupid level of effectiveness anyway.
It does prove one remarkable thing though – having money or the ability to acquire it and then give it to dm sets a new lower benchmark on the scale of human endeavours. Simply remarkable… I think even hardened criminals respect the humanitarian value of money a lot more.
John Locke says
I doubt it I Yawnalot. The criminal El Con had a great (and illegal) fortune and he couldn’t even be enough of a humanitarian to see to it that S.O. members children got enough to eat… Criminals ARE what they are, in a great measure, because they are NOT humanitarians…

If COB ever actually thought his Ideal Org Strategy would work…he is an idiot and worst “great leader of a world religion” ever, and on the short list of most incompetent managers ever. And, it seems, he has painted himself into a corner with this stupid strategy. It’s a hard one to back out of, or let fade away…and its failure is guaranteed. On the other hand, if the plan all along was to use this strategy to speed up the demise of Scientology, well, its a roaring success.
hgc10 says
It’s an interesting question: What did The Owner ever think was going to be the end-game of the Ideal Org program? It’s like asking Bernie Madoff where he thought he was ultimately headed with his investment management business. The answer lies hidden somewhere buried in a highly compartmentalized brain, and probably not even retrievable.
Aquamarine says
SSOA, in my opinion, David Miscavige wouldn’t MIND expansion of Scientology if by some miracle it would occur out of the Ideal Morgue program, which of course it will not. But then he isn’t trying to expand Scientology, that isn’t the goal.
LDW says
I wonder just what would happen in Sue’s rather non-infinite universe if she were made to sit down and word clear the following quote:
“We own a tremendous amount of property. We own a tremendous amount of material, and so forth. And it keeps growing. But that’s not important.
When buildings get important to us, for God’s sake, some of you born revolutionists, will you please blow up central headquarters. If someone had put some H.E. [high explosives] under the Vatican long ago, Catholicism might still be going.
Don’t get interested in real estate. Don’t get interested in the masses of buildings, because that’s not important.”
Tape: The Genus of Scientology
Yes, Sue that really was said on tape by some guy named L Ron Hubbard.
Now I want you to march into qual. You are to word clear M8, M9 and M2 the above quote. Then you are to get a disagreements check on it.
Before you donate one more penny to this fantasy you should go personally inspect at least 10 different so-called ideal orgs and properly evaluate their actual success vs the lies and deceit you are currently being fed like a dog in one of Pavlov’s experiments.
Write up what you found and post it here.
PS: I do think the line about using high explosives was figurative, not literal.
statpush says
For a desperate man, the desire for a solution – ANY solution, can be so powerful as to override any logic or rational or prior agreements.
It is apparent that most staff members and many public have firmly put their faith and trust in David Miscavige, and in the process have shifted their previous alliance with LRH. To many DM is THE MAN, he saved Scn and is steering it to greater and greater heights.
There will always be a soft spot in their hearts for LRH, but for present-time operations it’s DM all the way.
What I find astonishing is, the Ideal Org “strategy” can be disassembled with one question:
“Exactly how is this going to attract new public?”
I’ve asked this very question to senior Sea Org members and the mental gymnastics and gyrations were something to behold.
Aquamarine says
Statpush, I asked the same question several times to various Class V staff. Never got a straight answer out of any of them. I experienced a kind of sadness and embarrassment as each time I observed varying types of non-answers and other verbal maneuverings which included subtle accusations of me for even asking. I almost couldn’t confront what was their non-confront as they were highly trained Scientologists and long-term staff.

An Ideal Org in Birmingham (England) is key to World Clearing. Once that Ideal Org is there then that depressed Midlands area will boom and prosper and people will know that it is Scientology that has made the difference. And then the London Ideal Org will get floods of new customers as a result and there will be new Ideal Orgs opening across the UK are the rate of one a week. It all hangs on putting that Ideal Org out there.
I have to wonder about the ethics level of Scn staff and public in the UK. Why aren’t they going “all in” and making it happen? Everything depends on ethical people making it happen and not being held back by their reactive minds.

I agree, John Locke. Reminds me of that Mark Twain-ism to the effect that people would rather be fools than admit that they have been fooled. Something I consider a strong point in my own personality which helped open my eyes and get me out of the cult with a minimum of angst after decades of incredible blindness is my willingness to acknowledge that something or someone has made a complete fool out of me. But then, I’ve had a lot of practice along this line, as I’ve always been something of a fool 🙂
John Locke says
Quite correct Aqua. Twain summarized the phenomenon beautifully. As the youngest of 5 kids I too was used to being fooled. So, it was easier for me too I guess.
statpush says
Staff are firmly believe there is an ever present, unrelenting demand for Scn services by the public. So, therefore you have potential infinite expansion. But why doesn’t this demand ever materialize in packed orgs? Well, orgs and their staff are solely responsible for the condition they are in. If your org is empty it is because YOU and your non-application of Admin Tech or the Tech is out in your org. Either way all roads lead to an ETHICS situation.
But the truth is, none of this is demonstrably true. Scn services are NOT Coca Cola or a cure for cancer. People are not clamouring to get themselves some of that Scn action. It is simply untrue. But, this single false data leads to so many wrong actions and misery.
A corollary to this is: in the presence of an ideal org, Scn-related activities and organizations will just organically spring into existence. Presumably this is due to the ever present and unrelenting demand for Scn services (see above). This is demonstrably untrue as well.
Org staff have been fed the big lie from management (e.g. COB), that the reason their org is failing is because it is not “ideal”. That, apparently, the public are so repulsed by the downstatness of their environment, that they will reject the workability of Scn, thereby throwing away their only chance of freedom.
The fact that very few public even have the opportunity to assess the pitiful org environment appears to be lost on them.
Why do staff buy into this? My theory is that they have been beating themselves up for years now, thinking they are cause of the dismal state of Scn in their area. They’ve done numerous, numerous rounds of lower conditions, sec checks, comm evs, etc. and still the scene does not turn around. What else can they do? Work longer hours? Receive less pay? Turn over their children to the Sea Org?
No, instead, COB’s Ideal Org Strategy takes the pressure off of them a bit. No longer are they the cause of the org’s poor performance. So, when they buy into this they experience a bit of relief. Phew! They no longer have a bull’s eye on their back. But, it gets better, the cause is the state of the MEST of the org, and all they have to do is bring that up to a high standard. And they don’t have to do it themselves – it is everyone’s responsibility, both staff and public. Life just got a bit better. Someone to share the responsibility with.
Of course, like many things in Scn, none of this is based in reality and is solely a matter of belief.
Espiando says
Perfect, stat, only you need to go one more step back: what is the root cause of this delusion? It all comes down, as usual, to something L. Fraud Flunk-Out said: “The public hates like hell to be denied Dianetics and Scientology”. Since that statement has to be true because L. Fraud said it, its contrapositive, “Dianetics and Scientology are demanded by the public”, has to be true as well.
The fact that both statements are blatantly not true cannot be admitted, the first due to the fact that L. Fraud Is Always Right, and the second due to the causes that you laid out well. Everything that you described is designed to reinforce the fact that L. Fraud cannot be proven to be wrong about anything. The moment that happens, the Truman Show shuts down.
statpush says
You are correct, Espiando. All of this based on LRH’s self-promoting statement “The public hates like hell to be denied Dianetics and Scientology.” (spoken like a true narcissist) So, if you have NO public, then YOU must being doing something to DENY them Scn. And this is the greatest overt a staff member can commit.
So, really, the old man has sabotaged the good-intentions of willing staff members by reducing a complex marketing scenario down to a patently false datum, and pointing the finger at the very person who is trying to solve the problem. And it’s a problem most orgs are not in a position to solve. To get a healthy influx of new public requires a marketing strategy, which requires funding; and if you can’t keep your lights on, or your phones connected, or buy toilet paper, the last thing you’re thinking of is coming up with thousands of dollars for promotion and advertising.
Aquamarine says

The fascinating aspect of all this is that she truly believes it. We have seen many posts and ideas on how indoctrination leads you to such a stiff belief that does not let you see.
There seems to be another ingredient, however. Transference as psychologists describe it, or out of valence as scientologists do. The world they live in is so small, so, so closed that they actually end living the life of their leader; these people end speaking like him, lying like him, pretending like him and, in a way, are supporting a criminal scam. A very unfortunate affair to be a parishioner of this cult.
John Locke says
If these people didn’t tell themselves lies every waking moment (about the tech, about El Con, about org expansion, et al) they would have to look at the truth. Most of the long time in people cannot confront that they were totally scammed for decades. Too painful & embarrassing.

Poor Sue – they have shown her the “stats” from other ideal orgs that prove how successful they are and she has bought into it. She is also the ED of the org, and has invested a bucket of money (Humanitarian with Honours) and a ton of time, and probably feels like she is “singlehandedly” making it happen. What else is she going to say? Poor Sue. But wake up please Sue. Go visit those orgs and look at their numbers and their books of account to see what is really going on. What are the particular needs of people not being fulfilled? And why do you need to have inter-faith conferences? And if you send everyone to Flag and AOSHUK, you better be sure there is something in it for you, because that business model does not sound good for you or your org. Money has to circulate to make it work for everyone – doesn’t help to move it in one direction causing a flood at one end and a drought at the other. Why will the others fall in place if Birmingham gets done? There is no logic or “other facts” that could possibly lead you to conclude that. Come on Sue. Look for the dots and join them.

The Idle mOrgs are now taking the place of missions and others on the lowest level of the scam pyramid. Instead of body routers and ‘personality testers’ and auditors, the clampire now depends on the fund raising skills of people like Sue Harrison. Personal service is expensive and only the clebs and whales are worth that kind of attention.
Unless Tom Cruise or Bob Duggan spend time in Birmingham, nothing will ever be done with that Idle mOrg. No amount of bowling trophies or large print certificates or ‘status’ will fill up their coffers. Only a really brain slugged whale can save them, and they are a really endangered species in the clampire.
Birmingham, like Boston and Philadelphia and dozens of other locations all lack the rich clientele to make what was a self help scam work. That is why the scam is now straight donations that confer ‘status’ and ‘case gain’.
Lroon would be mad, but he would calm down when he saw the business plan and bank balance. A bank balance that will never help Birmingham. The clamish being spoken here will one day be as useful as Esperanto.

What COB fails to understand is that even though Catholics and Protestants built magnificent cathedrals throughout Europe (which attracted millions of visitors and people on pilgrimages) the core of both of those faiths was the local church, vicarage, parish, etc.
Entire communities developed around the local church. So while the cathedrals are beautiful, breathtaking buildings they were not what was going to ‘make or break’ the Church (RC, C of E etc.)
Local missions may not be good enough for COB and TC, but I don’t think the general public can afford to hang around an Ideal org all day.
But that’s the Catch 22 of the Co$…..build a cathedral for the whales……there’s just.not enough whales.in the world to fill one Org let alone the ‘dozens’ that open each day.
Poor Wee Dave……he’s watched Field of Dreams one too many times.
Potpie says
To use the lingua franca of Scn…..Field of Dreams is way too theta for Miscavige. HIS dreams are much more in line with Michael Myers in the Halloween movies. Proof in point…..how many people has he hacked/stabbed to death in the form of declares and disconnection? He buys buildings with other people’s money, makes them his own, lets a majority of them sit and rot. Then sits at his desk blaming those not as smart as he, for not giving HIM enough money to fix the places up. How dare these people not make his dreams come true!
PS….I think Michael Myers is better looking than David Miscavige.
Aquamarine says
Miscavige is not in the least confused. He knows exactly what he’s doing. The Ideal Morgue program is not being done to expand Scientology. With it he is solving other WHYs.
John Locke says
Chee Chalker, DM isn’t building “ideal org buildings” for the reasons you think he is. It is a way to disperse unspent donations in a way that; 1) helps keep its non-profit status. 2) hedges against the insanely high inflation that has been occurring for the last 15 years…

“Scientology has INFINITE expansion potential. As scientologist we have an infinite duty.”
“It’s as simple as that.”
Ummm…not quite. Your brand is toxic, militant, evil and incredibly stupid. As for your ‘infinite duty,’ you hit the nail on the head as you’ll be working forever for pennies an hour and no time off. It’s that simple…
Jens TINGLEFF says
“$cientology has infinite expansion potential.”
Well, I have to agree with that. What with the criminal organisation known as the “church” of $cientology shrinking by the day and all, the potential to expand is there. Now, that doesn’t mean that I think that the Co$ will ever expand…
“As $cientologists we have an infinite duty”
I agree that is what the Co$ would like you to feel, with respect to filling its coffers. What is that I see, a shirt on your back?!? Shame on you and off with that shirt!
Doug Parent says
Infinite expansion potential indeed, for the Indie field. If the Sciobubblers(C) had a whiff of what the options where beyond the rusty gates of that criminal enterprise that is.
cindy says
Mike I am so glad you have a way to go back to earlier publications to see what is listed there. to go from 16 missions pre 1992 to 2 now, even after all the Idle Morgues have been put there, the loss of 14 missions in that time is an epic fail of the Ideal Org program. The KA drinkers need to see this. Numbers don’t lie if you can walk to the address and see that the building formerly listed as being a Scn Mission or Org is now a Jiffy Lube because it went under and was sold. This was an excellent article. Thanks.

Infinite Duty. Sounds fun.
John P. Capitalist says
I call bullshit on this testimonial.
The very first sentence, “I have always been very Third-Dynamic orientated” is an appalling Americanism. I think almost every Brit of any level of education would say “oriented.” The word “orientated” is what grammarians would call a “nominalization,” which is turning a verb (“oriented” is the past tense form of “to orient”) into a noun. It’s typically seen as the mark of someone attempting to puff themselves up and sound smarter and more educated than they are. And while this sort of verbal fluff is an epidemic in the US, it’s not that common in the UK or other Commonwealth countries.
I also suspect that “dedicatedly” is an Americanism, not a UK usage, though it may be Scientology-speak that has polluted the language in any English-speaking country…
Any native English speakers have any thoughts (I’m a native American speaker, though I do pretty well at understanding the mother tongue when I visit the UK offices of Global Capitalism HQ)?
Mike Rinder says
Interesting observations JPC. Who knows, Sue may be a colonial. But more likely she is simply ears deep in the scientology bubble. This is the bubble encircled by the words of L. Ron Hubbard and his notoriously US-centric protege David Miscavige. Acceptable scientologyspeak is to be found in the written word and lectures of L. Ron Hubbard and the monumentally magnificent Shermanspeak of David Miscavige. And if ever there was someone attempting to puff themselves up and sound smarter and more educated than they are, it would be COB hisself. I think this is more likely. There is a lingua franca of scientology and it is quite distinct and it is very hard to shake even when you leave.
Chee Chalker says
Idk JP…… I can hear the word ‘orientated’ being said in a Cockney accent……..’the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain’…….’Blimey! I fnk COB is a right wanker, yeah’
Old Surfer Dude says
(Cockney accent) Right mate! You hit right on the head! That DAVID “PROVABLE BULLSHIT” MISCAVIGE” is truly the world’s biggest wanker in a tiny body.
McCarran says
JPC, you are such an interesting character. I must be in a different frame of mind today because your comment cracked me up. No one that I have ever known would think to break this down the way you did. I find you so fascinating to read.
My take on the “orientated?” Sue is stupid.
Nickname says
The English language is changeable, but it is currently being dismembered.
“I remember who I was talking to.”
“She is in hospital.”
“That is incredulous.”
I’m waiting for something like: “Her was shoppingly happy when incredulously her daughterater her a tug to she hand and exclaimed, “Whom’s daddy in visit today?!”.”
Gtsix says
Your second line is definitely Queen’s English – we colonials would add the article in front of hospital. (the hospital).
I have never heard orientated, ever.
It continues to drive me a touch batty when EPL football (soccer) announcers would say “the defense pressurized the ball” instead of pressured. My colonial mind just can’t accept that word in that usage.
James Morris says
I hate orientated, too. I can orient and reorient myself and others without fancy words just made up. The another word that bugs me no end is trialing. Thankfully, spell-checker tried to call me on it as I was trying this word. Terribly, I first heard it almost twenty years ago by a nurse outlining a trial to study something I’d forgotten.
Still, hearing the bastardized word tries me and I’m too old for further trials!
Todd Cray says
Actually, I have NEVER heard an American of any reasonable level of education use the term “orientated” either; and I do get around. Nor have I seen such a person string three sentences together, separated only by commas. “Contributive member?” Even my spellchecker isn’t having any of THAT!
I think this lady’s problems run deeper, as evidenced by the claim that “a large proportion of the UK population would give a rip about whether there’s an org in Birmingham–or anywhere else, for that matter! But then again, even more preposterous is, of course, the claim that such an org would “serve” the people! It would “serve” someone alright; the people–not so much!
Espiando says
Unfortunately, I have heard Americans use “orientated”. It’s one of the two nominalizations that drive me batshit crazy, the other being “preventative” (which I run into frequently given the nature of my job).
Alpha Bates says
I think that’s backwards. I’m pretty sure “orientated” is the British English form. I remember reading an article at the Guardian in which the word “disorientated” was used and it seemed so strange that I had to Google it to make sure I hadn’t been saying it the wrong way.
sara says
‘Orientate’ is more used in a figurative way. Since 1850. E.g.: to put oneself in the right position or relation. (Source: Oxford English Dictionary)
Pinhead says
Now wait a minute, I’m an American and I didn’t think orientated was even a word! I am very gramatically endowitated!
Old Surfer Dude says
I just get goose bumps when you use those big words…
John Doe says
Personally, I quite enjoy “orientater”. It’s particularly good with soy sauce and wasabi.
Old Surfer Dude says
I thought “orientater” was Asian potatoes…Sort of like tater tots.
JoeSchmoFromKokomo says
I believe if one is from Asia, it’s orientalized.
Newcomer says
I think it is actually a potato imported from Asia. COB pays extra to get the organic orientater for his word salads.

Mike, I think they *have* to tell themselves lies…and believe them completely…otherwise they have to admit to being duped repeatedly, lied to incessantly and having their reality so compromised that they will feel like total fools.
Old Surfer Dude says
Right on the money! Very nice post! It’s very tough to admit to yourself that you’ve been had. And if you’ve handed over HUGE amounts of cash, it’s really tough to admit you made a mistake. So what do they do? They keep on handing over tons of cash. This cult is really diabolical…

Ann.
Espiando says
But, Sue, you still haven’t given the best (and, let’s face it, only) reason to put an Idle Morgue in Brummieham: ELO is from there. As long as you don’t acknowledge this, I’m not forking over one pence.
You know, Sue, you’re almost as hilarious as Fearless Leader up in Edinburgh. There’s one difference, though: We laugh with Fearless Leader. We laugh at you.
John P. Capitalist says
Duran Duran is also from Birmingham. But don’t tell anyone that they’re a guilty pleasure for this Steely Dan fan.
Espiando says
Fortunately, as someone who’s a half century old, I’m Mister I Love The Eighties, so I can be an open Duran Duran fan without shame or risk of humiliation other than a “tch tch” headshake from the young’uns who just don’t understand that the lyrics of “Rio” are a profound statement.
Old Surfer Dude says
Your just a kid, Espi! I remember when I was 50…wait a minute…no I don’t…

OSD – that was funny
Old Surfer Dude says
Yep, that was funny as well as being true. Pretty soon I’ll be surfing sitting in a rocking chair…
Newcomer says
I do. And now that you mention it, I was really surprised by some of the elig questions at the time.
That was the age I started New OT Sex, I mean Six. I recall the elig questions about whether you were a masterbaiter (or just a novicebaiter). Since I was not much of a fisherman I figured I could get some training at the AO while I was at it!
Good grief! I asked the MAA during the review of the KRs when they had decided that masterbaiting had become an action that did the least good for the most dynamics and where the damage was actually occurring ……and to whom. It was determined (apparently by Chairman of the Bored) that the activity might mess up your mental image pictures. Really?? He who will not be named must really be bored!
Yo Dave,
Whacked off lately??
(sorry for any offense ………… I couldn’t resist the temptation to ask)
Now, back to your regular present time programming ……………
T.J. says
To Espiando, I looked up the lyrics to Duran Duran “Rio” and I have NO idea what they are talking about. How are the lyrics profound? It totally doesn’t make sense to me! Seriously,I’d love to know the answer to this, if Mike Rinder’s blog isn’t the proper place for it (no disrespect intended M.R.) please feel free to email me directly. Thanks! TashaDJones@yahoo.com
Old Surfer Dude says
Yeah, but, Coop? It’s just a small problem with DAVID “PROVABLE BULLSHIT” MISCAVIGE. No big thing. Literally.
Cece says
To newcommer: This must have started after I left staff in ’96? So if you are clear it’s OK. That church’s dynamics are out of wack. The entire lot of the 2D is messed up. The 1D also in some cases. How I escaped the insanity I barely knew was there I’m forever grateful. I was so ‘happy’ there but fortunately got kicked out LOL. Thank you Jenny 🙂
Old Surfer Dude says
Good for you, Cece! How does true freedom feel to you? I left in ’82 and NEVER looked back.
lawgrrl34 says
Proof positive that common sense isn’t all that common. How long will they continue to through good money after bad into an organization that gives absolutely nothing back?
lawgrrl34 says
Throw, not through.
McCarran says
Well, the way out is the way throw. 🙂 (Couldn’t resist.)
Throw enough good money after bad and they will be through. Everyone has a breaking point, but I agree with you about the “common sense” part, lawgrr134; sigh.
Gimpy says
At the time I left (a few years back). The ideal morgue donations had slowed from a flow to a trickle to a drip. If places like Birmingham were not getting done when people were throwing in thousands, what hope do they have with a couple of hundred $’s being all they get from a hard evening’s regging?
Old Surfer Dude says
“…what hope do they have with a couple of hundred $’s being all they get from a hard evening’s regging?
They don’t. No chance whatsoever. Nada. Zip. Nothing. All hope is gone. I’m hoping for a mass exodus…
