This never-in has followed/commented on Mike & Tony O. blogs, avidly watched all three Aftermath seasons, listened to every $cio escapee audiobook I can find, have personally felt the sting of OSA’s interweb-monitoring Cat o’ Nine Tails via Fair-Gamed local law enforcement, and have been a feature/fiction writer for some few years.
Your compelling story here and accompanying “Clarification of Terms” (Opinionated Lingo) is among the best writing I’ve read on the inhumanly illogical cult of enslavement, greed and viperous evil that is Co$.
Your ‘light touch’ describing the Co$ ‘alternative universe’ is worthy of P. J. O’Rourke or George Carlin, for example, “Yeah, beingness is yet another word blast-forged from the blunderbuss mouth of L Ron Hubbard,” yet you give appropriate gravity to the horror of disconnection, the soulless larceny of a life stolen from relationship with family and ‘wog’ friends, and the enforced betrayal of partners, values, and rational thinking.
In humble hommage to your marvelous prose, “Ma’am, may I have another?”

I knew several high school friends who got into different cults I’d previously mentioned. Lost touch with several, ran into a few here & there….for those who left/escaped/blew/got kicked out….NONE of them came out without severe emotional damages.

Most of them got into these cults as they were “looking for something….or in were deemed outsiders by peer groups….the kids who had no friends in high school because they were considered to be nerds, weirdo, social misfits, DIFFERENT.” Some came from really good families, wealthy even, simply bored or had parental conflicts as in “I’ll show them”…., others were the cast off or forgotten kids whose parents ignored them.
They were looking for acceptance, love or someone who would agree with how wrongly they were being treated by others & that was a huge focus.

From where I sit, your writing skills as far as this goes are stellar. My best hope is to read the rest of your heartfelt story. I HOPE someone will publish it as a word of warning to others

Auditors are the quack pseudo-therapists/exorcists.

Scientology brainwashes everyone (newbies, oldies, and the outside world) to thoroughly give the “auditor” this lofty image, but they are the core quacks dishing out the Hubbard quackery and exorcism, in fact.

PS: It is important to know Hubbard was failing at his own “auditing” of himself, on the solo exorcism upper level called OT 7, when he died. Lawrence Wright’s final pages of his book, “Going Clear….” are vital to read and absorb Hubbard’s despair and mental funk at the end of his life. And the Emeter is a half assed “lie detector.” It’s not even the full lie detector. It’s more like an Electronic “Ouija board” if anything. The people inject Hubbard’s crackpot theory into what the “needle” is doing on this Emeter when the dupes are holding the electrodes of it. The cloaking of Hubbard’s lofty misrepresenting words elevate Scientology’s quackery so thoroughly, it’s impossible to quickly reframe their “auditing” as being just quackery, because almost everyone’s bought into the language Hubbard used to cloak this crackpot subject.
