ExScn, You're playing my song when you talk about Tech holy grails that are so hard to let go of.
I believed so deeply that if I gamed energetically enough I could raise my stats to some stratospheric level of superness that that when faced with the fact that I couldn't, I kind of caved myself in.
Realizing that the Conditions and the Formulas were an unwinnable game came long after the red flags had flown and the truth had marched in front of my blind eyes.
The only person who was really supposed to win the Scientology game was L Ron Hubbard. I was supposed to be a believer in the face of things that didn't always work.
I was supposed to take responsibility, and contribute to the motion. Which meant I had to squeeze blood out of turnips and do the impossible to get my wins.
And when I got those wins, because I practically did the impossible, I had to thank L Ron Hubbard for that win. And believe it. And I had to hide my bloody fingertips, sore muscles, and tired eyes in the dark, while the spotlight shown on clapping scientologists staring at a bust of LRH.
Hip hip hooray. Yeah, no. Not anymore.
Thank you for your kind words on the installments.

I have to say I am continuing to absolutely love these installments. Thank you ever so much.

It was absolutely incredible how a reg or an ethics officer could take a conditions formula that mostly seemed to make sense and upend it completely. The only step that mattered was the one that helped their stat or got money in for the group.

Conditions and formulas was definitely one of the harder holy grails for me to let go of. That absolutely none of the staff seemed able to maintain a normal condition, especially without gaming the system as much as possible, not even the Flag Rep, should have been clear evidence it wasn't workable. With a Flag Rep (someone who was SO) and a few Flag-trained staff, there should have been at least a couple of graphs on the org "stat wall" that looked consistently good. Not a one.

Scn condition formulas are actually a very bizarre twist on the old 4. Profit meme:

1. Do a thing
2. Do some other thing
3. ???
4. Give Scn all profits

There's a lyric from the song 'Truckin', recorded by the Grateful Dead on their album 'American Beauty.'

Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me
Other times, I can barely see
Lately, it occurs to me
What a long, strange trip it's been

Yep, the best way to experience Scientology is by looking in the rear view mirror from far, far away.

Geoff, that is so true. All considerations not to spend, borrow, or conjour, due to the physical universe constraints, were beneath the reg's notice.
I remember how fearful I was about my debt load. I remember being reduced to tears in a Flag registrar's office when asked to borrow for the second time in a single visit.
I was removed mid-breakdown from their office because a better prospect had shown up in the waiting room.
Some expiditer was called to spirit my tear-streaked, unacceptable to be seen self back to my hotel room.
A labyrinthine route was chosen, with fits and starts to conceal me from others. My unhappy state didn't fit the happiest place on Earth, that Flag was supposed to be.
I was then sent to Qual (Qualifications, the department that sorts out things that go wrong) to be dealt with.
In the end, I borrowed more and was validated for my increased confront and willingness to disagree with the physical universe.
When I look back at that time, knowing that it wasn't an isolated incident for me, I'm appalled.
I know this happened to many many Scientologists. I know it happens still. And to think that the Conditions, that I valued so highly, was the lever used against me, and others is vile.

Oh, I remember that "rabbit in the headlights" feeling. And when you come to, you're wondering Why the FARK you signed up for yet another course you don't need and can't afford. Fortunately for me I was sucked in by Werner Erhard's Forum, which was based on a lot of ideas he picked up from RLH, but was easier to wiggle out of. At least they didn't attack my family or go after my pets.

The biggest issue is that , is there any statistical data about success and failure over the period of time.
How much financial benefit rendered and what's the quantum of business and financial losses.

So far nothing in business world like McKinsey or BCG reporting techniques benefited and tested objectively . Likewise nor any research journal like Harvard Business Review or Forbes mentioned the existence of such techniques providing results which can be statistically tested for accuracy

Highlighting success and sliding failures under the rug may be strategy of before social media era BSME.

Any how, when its going to over soon, Age of Extinction after current Age of Paranoia shall expose all the issues and may pose threat of Class Action Law Suit for selling business techniques with out highlighting cons along with pros , the expected profit along with losses in worst case scenario.

its not me , its written on the wall.

I have hundreds of registrar experiences similar to that. We are told to follow the conditions religiously unless it’s about giving the cult money. That overrides everything; family, debts, taxes, rent etc. none of that is as important as financially supporting the cherch.
