Jere, the abreaction therapy that Hubbard saw in the Navy and copied to create Dianetics, is a classic example, and was abandoned before 1950. While it seemed to often produce an impression of powerful change, it turned out not only to be ineffective in the long run, and thus not to produce the promised results, but also had the downside of causing a significant number of people to get worse or even experience psychosis - which is kind of the history of Dianetics and Scientology in a nutshell.

Not only was he not that imaginative, he wasn't that good a planner, not even thinking through how to set Scientology up to handle technological changes and advances he couldn't foresee - among other possible changed external forces, such as we now wee. He could have set them up with some flexibility to adapt, I'd imagine by some artifice like claiming that he knew about future technology but couldn't give away specific secrets.

In reply to <a href="https://www.mikerindersblog.org/thursday-funnies-254/#comment-333205">Dead Men Tell No Tales Bill Straass</a>.

Sharrron was way late on the chain of face rippers. Hubbard set that mold and privately apprenticed persons in the chain of command directly underneath him for decades in that art.

In fall of 1995 I became the temporary Exec Esto at ASI, and my immediate first job was post an I & R for ASI, someone with enough gumph to get in Norman Starkey's ethics, type of ethics altitude person.

I realized, as I was soon failing on this Exec Exto for ASI position, that Hubbard's system just hasn't proven workable, just too many good execs of more benign personalities fail and get toasted and self eject to get out of the frying pan ridiculous predicaments that accrue in every single one of the Hubbard org boarded Scientology and Sea Org units, so this was going to be a futile job, both I & R for the top most execs of the movement, and the job, mine, to establish personnel to enforce the Hubbard administrative rules and regulations and hatting and establishing and cleanup and patch up that an Esto is supposed to be able to do.

There are no long range top execs that have survived, only the top banana, in the upper ranks. A frew "top" execs, like the CC Int Commanding Officer Petit has hung in there. Vicki Shantz at CO CLO WUS. I think Walter Kotric as CO CLO EU has hung in there.

Jeannie Sonnenfeld (Franks, Bogvad, Danilovich is her maiden name, she's the sister of John Danilovich) she's been up and down and she was in LA for cleanup last I heard.

There just is a futile long range failure rate of the Scientology movement's history of leaders.

When Miscavige had his realization of stepping up to become the "top" person in the movement, he grasped only that he needed to survive by getting up high enough so no one, and also dodge Hubbard's wrath and not be dislodged by Hubbard until Hubbard died, and Miscavige realized how to just hang on, once he got the unchecked top cult boss of the movement today.

Everyone else, below, unless they are in niche irreplaceable specialized jobs, all the volatile more ups and down heads of units jobs, there is the inevitable turnover.

SRA was a cop out, and even in the Esto tapes, once place Hubbard gives the briefest admission that "blowing someone's head off" isn't good, it is a mistake and the Esto is to go patch up that staff who just had their head blown off by the irate exec, but Hubbard also says that blowing off steam by execs is something that can be expected, there are just too many Flag Orders where LRH does just that. "Wrath is effective but only used in moderation" it says something like that in "Ethics Presence" (Flag Order turned into Policy Letter).

Hubbard mental health problems are today inextricably tied into just so many unrevisable Hubbard movement administrative policy letters rules, it is impossible to fix his system.

He left that system roll all the way to his death. Even though he had a few moments of despair that he'd failed, he admitted, which are in the must must must read final pages of Lawrence Wright's "Going Clear..." book which are the best final "Source" briefing all ex staffers and all Scientologists ought to read and sober up on Hubbard's flawed personality. He was quitting the movement, in honesty, in his admissions of failure to Sarge at the end of his life.

I don't think he fully admitted he was pulling the plug on the movement, since Ray Mithoff did the final "ENd of Life" sessions on Hubbard before Hubbard died, and I don't think anyone heard that same admission that Hubbard made to Sarge, so the other top execs and persons around Hubbard at the end of his life only noticed Hubbard's feeble mindedness, but not Hubbard's despair and feelings of failure that Hubbard admitted to Sarge.

The Scientology operation and all the executive misbehavior SRA, "wrath is effective if only used in moderation", and "bait and badgering" of the Esto step training for executives, and "push production until your run into stops and blow the stops off the line with ethics" (that was the final WDC 86 LRH strategy of 1982 onwards), all this is Hubbard's mental deficiencies as a movement maker.

It's all on Hubbard, I feel. People holding the positions, are just playing out Hubbard's required tools for their positions, as they were apprenticed to be like Hubbard.

All it means is that he absolutely terrified that some $camologists might start thinking for themselves and realise that have wasted years of their lives and desert the sinking Miscavige. The other thing that will have him in a lather is the possible loss of drinking and hair transplant money he won't see if the sheepbots are forced to stay away.

Anyone else see him sending SO troops out in force to check and lean on the 'bots?

I just hope we come through this horror in good shape so that I can finally get to take a trip to Italy. I have always wanted to visit two countries: Italy and France. Just to taste the food. In my country people recognize Italy and France as having the very best food in the world. I so would love to try it.

But switching gears to talk about "crushing debt". The is no debt like scamology debt. People who have never experienced scamology debt just have no idea how terrifying debt can be.

When people join this horror show, they have some incredible debt foisted upon them. They just don't know what hit them.

There is no debt in this world like scamology debt. It leads me to understand how and why some people suicide. I just hope that you and all your compadres will escape the crushing debt of this crutch.
