Hi Loosing,

Well, its a toss up; my first spontaneous thought was it was a hideous carpet cut up but Yawn came thru with shower curtain from a cheap motel, which indicated to me as far more likely, because, after all, how does one drape a carpet around one's shoulders?

On the other hand, flowered kitchen curtains can't be discounted either.

So at this point, I'd say forget the carpet, its a toss up between cheap shower curtain or cheap kitchen curtains.

Can we ask her? Perhaps we can reach out to Ms. Duggan and offer to donate substantially to whatever she's shilling for, but first we need this point clarified, i.e, where did she get that flowered shawl?

If/when she answers we can then withdraw our donation promise, informing her that we decided that NOT donating even a thin dime was for the "greatest good", Along with the explanation we'll give her an apology for any inconvenience accompanied by an LRH reference : "Never fear to hurt another in a just cause".

Thailand is a truly magical place. Lovely people, amazing food, stunning scenery (beaches, islands, jungles, mountains). It never ceases to delight. Wealth obsession is alive and well in the cities (and farang hell holes like Phuket) so go rural or up north for more down to earth types.

Vietnam, also. And Indonesia. Better yet, explore the whole region. You'll love it!

@Cindy,

"...'on its WAY' to being a banana republic"? I think it already is. I lived in one for 2 years so I have something of a frame of reference.

I've heard the same good stuff about Thailand! But I know nothing about the country either. I'm going to check it out further. I'll definitely share what I find out.

I had a friend move to Thailand to retire. He said you can live like a king (or queen) on social security in Thailand. I've never been there so I can't comment. I'm just passing his thought on to you. If you find a good place to retire let me know as I'm looking also. America is on the way to becoming a banana republic and it might be time for me anyway, to look outside the country to live. But where?

One of your best posts! Cracked me up. Not sure about the carpet design though, it looks more like a shower curtain from a cheap motel.
BTs apparently never went to finishing school.

Its so petty of me, I know, but I don't think I'll ever get used to Ms. Duggan's godawful taste in clothes. She's a billionaire for crying out loud and she's not unattractive. She could pay someone with good taste to pick out flattering, good quality, not necessarily designer but quality things, and put outfits together for her. Instead, what has Miss. Trish done for her latest painful to the eyes photo op - cut up a carpet and draped it around her shoulders? How can she leave the house - let alone allowed herself to be photographed - like this? Ok, I'll stop. My apologies; end of picayune rant.
