Don't forget the revels and ranting of Cruise on some talk show

That, and the attempted censorship after, are precisely the reasons for the anti-Scientology efforts of Anonymous and Project Chanology.

The performance of Cruise at the closing of the Paris Olympics would imply a closer-than-before relationship between U.S. govt. and CoS.

CoS in any case doesn't exist, as Mr. Rinder would well know, there is no such institution, just a plethora of shell companies to conceal money transfers, for 'Ron' in the distant past, and for CoB now.

The mass news media won't even insist on asking a PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE (Harris) any questions about major issues and you expect them to grill a MOVIE STAR????? Hahahahaha ....

The news media has never been more corrupt than it is now. In regards to Scientology, that is irrelevant really , as the CoS is shrinking and destroying itself .

Yes she was. She deserves all the best in life. She did not sell out. She was attacked and fought back and THEY surrendered. Debbie if you’re reading this, that testimony has gone down in history. I bow down to you and sincerely hope you are living your absolute best life.

As for getting sued by Scientology. Remind me, how did that go for Debbie Cook? Oh that’s right, after they sued HER, after one day of her testimony on the stand, they paid her to drop the lawsuit THEY started.

Yep, so many people forget what really happened there and some even criticized her for "selling out." She delivered a blow that will never be erased in her day of testimony. With her email and that testimony Debbie Cook earned the right to spend the rest of her life living however she wanted. She really was "Hurricane Debbie."

“If you bring one of them home, you will get a small plaque as a reward.” Aww isn’t that special. By the late 1970s, we weren’t even getting attaboys for hunting down our prey.

As for the rest of the article. I guess several billion of tax free dollars and fake religious status which they’ve held with the IRS since 1993 has served as an effective deterrent to most press. That’s a shame. The monster may have a lot of money, but harassment is the only tool left in their kit these days.

One can see that this article is from a long time ago.
I was amused to see Charlie Sheen's comment:

“I have no involvement in that form of silliness.”

Quite clearly, there are many other forms of silliness that Sheen is more than happy to get involved in, if silliness is the right word.

It seems to me that Scientology's grip on Hollywood is much more tenuous than it was when this article was written. Of the Scientology celebrities, many have left, and a few are no longer with us.

Cruise and Travolta are perhaps the last remaining major Hollywood stars to be involved.

Thirty years ago, Scientology was a powerful, sinister, feared and poorly understood organization. Today, it is the butt of everyone's jokes. One can find out about Xenu from Late Night Talk Shows. This is an extraordinary fall from grace.

For us, Cruise' support for Scientology and friendship with David Miscavige is reprehensible. Most people probably do not care much.

Tom Cruise is still one of the most bankable stars in the history of Hollywood. Now in his 60s, he remains the most successful action star, and almost alone in Hollywood, he does all of his own stunts. This is what people admire about him and why he got the Olympic gig. He got a lot of bad press when he started promoting Scientology, but recovered after he reined this in. This indicates, perhaps, that he is far more interested in being a movie star than he is in pushing Scientology.
