I know this article is older so this probably won’t be seen but I live very close to the church and would like to make a few things that I have noticed known. I remember when the church was being established there was a lot of controversy over its location. The reason that the scientologists were so obsessed with this particular building is because it is right next to the post office and is right off of Roswell Road by many cheaper apartment complexes. There is another building, that was formerly a lab, on the other side of the post office that went on the market before the the church was finalized. Through my research, and watching the show, and I have realized that this was all done in a concerted effort to grow the black population within the church. They have also been having a lot of open houses recently (for obvious reasons) but I found it odd that they block the back entrance/exit with one of their bright orange traveling minister vans. You would think that for an open house they would want as many entrances to be open especially since the parking lot is so small. Lastly, all of the cars in the parking lot have out of state plates and there are rarely new cars, but I have noticed some new cameras being put up across the street from the church and more around the entrance pointed towards the street for surveillance.

I’ve followed Scientology humorously since I noticed it’s sad location in Atlanta in the mid-90’s, it was a cool building that never seemed to have anyone in it. One day I walked in and got the pitch, it was pathetic. So ever since, I’ve paid attention, laughed, and have been shocked at the depth this sick org will go.

Then, living in Sandy Springs, being a patron of the post office that sits behind the org building, I take great joy in seeing the org building sitting virtually empty, and has done so since its inception. But it’s also bittersweet that this damn cult managed to fleece the system and have any existence in our city, a city that does not want the awful cult in it.

I’d welcome any opportunity to shame this org out of my city. Or simply simply shame this cult for any reason.

So fun times, I lived just down the street from this place and watched the work go on from 2012-2017. No one in Sandy Springs wanted it there and it’s basically a ghost town today.

After it opened, the only people I ever saw there were poor black people that I assume they literally picked up from the hood and paid to stand outside with signs of welcome. That lasted a few months and then it was back to 3 cars in the parking lot and no other signs of life.

It’s funny you mentioned the flooding, because I’d drive by on my way to work and see the front doors propped open at all hours of the day. My guess was the poor schmucks working there were trying to air out that damp, mold smell.

Anyways, I find it hilarious that they spent millions and millions on something that only poor people looking for a hot meal will ever seek out.

Now in the basement chapel taking pictures alongside humanitarians...Sad. What is it that ignites the flame that causes some of the best amoung us like Marty and Mike to realize the trap of cos? For me the constant drumbeat of make wrong out ethics and the search for rock slamming at Asho became the least of the game.Looking back Rock Slamming WTF! I got tagged forever as one of those,totally wrong I might add. I wish Diana would leave and be free of cos but that is her call,for me what I thought was a shining shimmering star that would guide me to all I had been seeking my entire life was nothing but an old tattered science fiction story yellowing in the Sunlight.Love,Ann.
