I especially liked the part where Leah meets with her friends and they discuss their experiences in Scientology. They didn't look like bitter defrocked apostates at all but a very nice group of ladies who have gotten their lives together after the Scientology experience. I'm happy for Leah that she's moving forward with her life. She seems to be doing all the right things to recover from a lifetime in the CoS and is very lucky to have such a great family and circle of friends who support her and each other as well.

RolandRB, I was at FSO when they regularly did ~$1 million/week. Based on how few people are on services now as compared to back then, I'd say that they would be lucky to be breaking $1/4 million/week now.

By FAR their biggest money maker is the L's. They have shipped their Class XII's out to FSC offices to drum up business. That means almost zero whales in that pipeline at Flag itself.

'It’s amazing how many times one person can mock up, realize they mocked up, forget about mocking up, unmock, re-mock and re-unmock their reactive mind.'
You're on top form with this one, Mike - real funny.
The irony though, and maybe not so funny, is that matey boy probably had the exact same cognition a while ago and has been exploiting it ever since!

In reply to <a href="https://www.mikerindersblog.org/good-news-from-flag/#comment-94881">Lawrence</a>.

Cindy -

The one-word answer is "Ethics," but it is such a big subject .... Scientology ethics tech was never really used. Individuals were never really taught to use it for themselves to establish their own lives on their own determinism, seeing the logic.

Ethics is a purely personal thing. "When one is ethical or "has his ethics in," it by his own determinism and is done by himself." (Intro to Scn Ethics, LRH.) It is reason, and it is admin scales.

I still wonder if LRH realized what he had done when he tossed off the admin scale in an effort to help mission-holder ED's organize better on the fly. An admin scale is a template for the logic of living. Everyone has goals and some sort of plan to achieve some vague notion of an ideal scene, but few "work out" everything using admin scales to establish their own policies and work out programs and projects which are logically consistent. This is not very hard to do. You see people going to the gyms, but you don't see many doing the morning workout of ethics, to stay in shape. "Why am I doing, and what am I going to do, and what am I going to get? Where are my admin scales to lift and work out with?"

The big problems come in with high-level admin scales which extend beyond the present life. This, people consider, is the realm of philosophers and of religion. That's "The Word of God" territory, not to be touched or even looked at. This, people consider, is the realm of "no one knows."

Proper use of admin scales, at the least, connects dots and brings the "no one knows" down to the reason and the why for making a cup of coffee in the morning, before breakfast, and getting ready for a day's work. It is too simple to see the consistencies, the common elements, in admin scales, and project those to the highest levels. Some might call making morning coffee "living in the now" or "in the moment" and "enjoying every minute," but in that conception the reasoned logic is still not worked out beyond the immediate moment.

The big "what if" and the big "non-confront" I see is that we are in fact in an eternity. There is that huge forever right with each of us, and each of us must deal with it rationally, with goals, purposes, with our own policies, plans, implementations of these things to produce value, to be good beings, good people, and this must be done by oneself.

Time is the principle aberrative factor. It is a consideration. A being gets wrapped up in it, considers it is senior to himself. Time is the basis of games, the playing field, and a being is reluctant to leave that, to consider beyond that. But he is very limited in that, if time were all there were to life.

In another bit of glibness: life is too big to confront. It is as if there were some Eternal Gate Keeper, with a statement and a question. "You have an infinity of paths to take. Which would you prefer?" That choice, or choices, is ethics.

There is this infinity of choice in the present, in the absence of, or in the as-is-ness of time, and that is right in front of everyone. That is life, and it is "too big to confront." Too big to plan for eternity. Easier to take someone else's word for it, and do as one is told. And that is where false prophets walk in, to disturb the peace, and mislead others with false admin scales. The false prophet dictates ethics, to force others to assume their valence and adopt their goals to further their own dominance. That is something LRH never would do. The closest he came to that was The Way To Happiness. Really, one would not do badly at all to live by the Ten Commandments, or the precepts of TWTH. But I don't think LRH ever imagined that an OT would fail to establish his own ethics.
