This so-called “alien” uses concepts, definitions and idioms well-known to anyone who has conducted even a cursory study of basic scientology materials. While the book claims to be directly sourced from transcripts of interviews with the alien, no evidence is given to substantiate the claims. Therefore, the work can be assumed to be fabricated in the immediate period before actual publication (circa 2000, I believe). I conclude that it’s a highly-entertaining (particularly for Scientologists) hoax and innocuous to the same degree that Scientology itself might be considered to be.

It is so brave of you both to continue to speak out against Scientology.

I live in the UK and remember walking past their shop in Tottenham Court Road where they were giving away Dianetics I seem to remember (with a catch – you had to speak to them first – I think it was where timeshare companies got their ideas!). I was with my parents and this seemed kind of interesting and sci-fi but luckily for me I did not stop to find out more.

I wonder if you might explore Scientology in countries like the UK where of course it originally had its world headquarters in East Grinstead and only very recently, under COVID-19 lockdown, it has been reported that Tom Cruise has been spending his time in quarantine is allegedly exploring moving here to be close and looking for some mansion nearby.

The British legal system seems to be openly critical of Scientology calling it “pernicious nonsense”,”dangerous material” and “immoral and socially obnoxious” It has been described in Parliament as a socially harmful enterprise which indoctrinates children and other vulnerable people by “ignorantly practising quasi-psychological techniques”

It seems to operate here as an Education College under Australian charity law per accounts (audited by an Australian firm of accountants) freely viewable at Companies House here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/FC009154/filing-history but is not a UK registered charity, Interestingly it declares that there are however no transactions with its Australian “parent”

I wonder if some of its overseas operations in terms of finance, taxation and legal status might be its achilles heel and more open to investigation?

I have watched the 1st season when it first aired, and I remember a very good friend of mine was a scientologist, before that she was like my big sister, and all I kept thinking i need to get her out of there, she would tell me how she disconnected with her mom for 8 years because she wasn’t a scientologist and that her mother wanted her to come home and knew that the organization was no good for her, I even thought about joining just to try to not have her be there alone, but I couldn’t get pass the nonsense of what they were promoting. My friend decided to disconnect from me when i couldn’t go thur with it. Which pissed me off, lol ,long story short I planned on getting my friend back, my sister, I got my chance, had her brother and my husband get her in my car and drove her to her mother’s house, we made her sit down with us, and Google scientology and watched your show, and alot of talking with her other family members.

She is now safe and free from the cult and til this day her mother thanks me for bringing her daughter home.

just finished watching all 3 seasons and I must say it takes alot of guts to stand up and fight, even bigger guts to stand up to admit that you are sorry for the things you have done and want to help others.

Please Please do a podcast, this will help so many people that need to hear more and to gain the courage they need for the friends and family that are scared and need this support. Your show gave me the guts to get my friend back, you never know what your podcast can do for others.

I know that Leah Remini and Mike Rinder have expressed specific, personal interest in Scientology but if you are interested in exposing other cults, A&E’s “Cults and Extreme Beliefs” is a great program that you can also watch on Hulu. There’s episodes on NXIVM, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Children of God, and more. Perhaps you could reach out to A&E with your story and petition for another season.

It would be an extra plus to cover other cultic groups, just like the Jehovah’s Witness. NXVIM is one. Plus, I’m in one. Over 60 years of experience with mine.
