I am unconcerned if you think I am rude as I am worn out from worry and the cleanup which is overwhelming at the moment. I am also sick of the arm chair quarterbacking being done. It is mean spirited and not helpful.

I do thank you for what you have done from your distant place to help us. It is very appreciated and south Texas is beyond grateful for the help we have received and will continue to receive. It has brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart to see how many people from all over the world have contributed in small and big ways.

I think it is pretty rude to ask what I have done to help, assuming I have no right to criticize, as if I have not done anything. I am in Wisconsin, so I can’t exactly go down there, just like you probably would not come here. But I have set up a care package program for members of a group I am in and their parents and other family members. So yes, I am doing something. I’ve also donated to the red cross.

The hatred of Joel Osteen has reached a ridiculous level. They are helping now so I choose to applaud them. I don’t know why it took them a while to get going but I choose to give them and anyone the benefit of the doubt. Everything in this area is taking 17 times longer than usual just to do the simplest things. It is easy to criticize from one’s easy chair.

He didn’t open his church up as a shelter until backlash forced him to. They lied and said it was closed due to flooding, and then said it was never closed. Then They said it would be used as a distribution center. NOW it is open up as a shelter, but only if other shelters are full.

The parts of the building that were flooded were the underground parking garage.

I am not a pastor or tax exempt so that I can provide services to the community in time of need. He is.

The dude is not quite as bad as Miscavige (as we don’t here of physical and mental abuses going on in his church), but he is just as much of a con artist.

Meanwhile, the Mormons trucked it from Utah and other surrounding states to help.

The amount of support from all across our country and even beyond is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. All of us in the Houston area are so grateful for everything from those who are showing up with boats to rescue folks, the first responders, the donations of time and money, the prayers, just all of it. It is simply amazing. We thank you all for caring about us and for “doing something about it”!

Osteen’s net worth is some 40 million…..pretty damned good for a man who is a “Pastor” but does NOT hold a ministry, theology, or divinity degree. In fact, Osteen holds NO college degree at all….he was studying communications at Oral Roberts University but dropped out to “preach” at he Lakewood Church after his father’s death. Joel was ELECTED Pastor of the church by their hierarchy & his wife Victoria co pastors…..
They live in a 10,000 square foot home, drive luxury vehicles and wear the best in clothing.

He spent millions renovating the former indoor sports complex, including adding many more seats, so he is NOT about to open the doors to those in need, only to have his mega church destroyed like the sports complex in Louisiana was destroyed by shelter victims during Hurricane Katrina.

After all, IF the sports complex church stadium WERE to be destroyed by housing the victims of the Hurricane…just HOW would Osteen be able to collect the “weekly tithing” from his church members that lovingly and willingly trust him & support the church???
