I live about 5 miles from Yukon Harbor and have a friend (another never-in) who grew up here. She or her family may have some stories… so might another friend with local roots. I’ll ask to see if there are interesting local stories. The first friend will know them if anyone does!

I apologize in advance for a thread derail but today I came across with an piece I had never seen before. It was written by Craig Branch and his website is called “The Watchman Fellowship”. In it the article titled “Church of Scientology: A Religious Mafia? ” is a very focused and concise summary.

Hasn’t Scientology not only not outgrown Ruth Eckerd Hall, but no longer has to set up tents outside to handle overflow attendance, as they once did? I’m guessing that one of the points of LRH Hall is to have a facility with moving walls so that they can adjust the space to be “full” for whatever size crowd they can still attract – the Dolby in LA, which they downsized some events to from the Shrine, has such a feature.
