As many times as you’ve discussed the contradictions here, then reading commenters who were familiar and added detail, I thought I had a decent grasp. But you’re spot-on! I read that first chapter and thought, “Crap, this is going to be a late night!” as I couldn’t put it down!

Last, but definitely not least – Chris Owen just released a book called “Ron: The War Hero” that delves deeply into his actual service, records and surprising new info discovered during his research for the book. He’s an excellent writer who gives much detail, yet weaves it into a story that’s an interesting read.

I agree wholeheartedly. Truly an excellent work of research and analysis. The first chapter of the book is genius — it is scientology’s version of Hubbard’s war record. With cites for every single statement it is truly laughable how many completely conflicting statements there are for virtually every part of his time in WW II. It is quite amusing to read the repeated Hubbard/scientology claimed he was on the Secretary of the Navy’s plane being flown home as the first casualty in the Pacific Theater, or alternatively, he was escaping Japanese invaders on Java, or alternatively he was sinking Japanese subs off the coast of Portland, or alternatively he was Commander of a British Corvette squadron in the North Sea etc etc etc

Kat, on your SP Declare, did they use the correct name for you if “Kat LaRue” is your pen name and not your real name? If so, it is more proof that they read these blogs and go to great lengths to figure out who each person is who is writing on the blogs. They did that with me when I used to write with a pen name.

We had a period of time (here in the US) where it was either happening more often, or simply being reported in the media finally. It seems that as we’ve become more polarized politically and had other series’ of tragedies, I don’t recall hearing of any recent stolen valor cases. It’s most definitely illegal and deeply frowned upon here, as well. And I agree – many of us wonder why (in yet ANOTHER case of co$ blatantly committing crimes) it’s never been pursued.

There’s a poster on Tony’s blog -PickAnotherID – who’s really delved into lrh’s military records, the medals co$ purports (and DISPLAYS!) that he has. His comments are interesting to read, as he goes into which medals are impossible and why. Also how they’re displayed incorrectly – and NO ONE whose served in the military, even newbies – would display so overtly improperly.

Interesting as the source of the awards are described so it’s clear WHY he couldn’t have earned them. The purpose was to prevent a government-sponsored religion. The purpose of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are to restrict government. Neither one granted any rights to anyone. Rights predate anything the Framers created.

Read the Declaration of Independence especially,

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights …”

Legally, it’s difficult to convict a sadist for injuring a masochist.
