COS makes a habit of buying buildings in areas that need revitalizing. That is one way people become attracted to COS. The area is cleaned up and all of the sudden mostly white people in uniforms are walking around trying to look very uptone. A uniform is meant to command respect. NYC is a major victim of gentrification and Harlem is not excluded from that.

"....The whole charade will one day topple over as it truly is a house of cards....."

Their MEST is improving, their uniforms just got a spruce up in LA.

This deflation of the movement is odd.

Lower membership.

But spiffier buildings and uniforms.

I don't see a sinking of the Titanic moment where the whole thing slips under the surface and sinks.

Too much Hubbard autopilot rules holding it up unseen keeping them paying their bills and keeping up their appearances, even as deflating as they are.

Slow deflation.

I had it in my head that the people were untrained and that's why the perverted the subject. It's not a bad idea, actually. Can you imagine my horror and amazement when I discovered after I'd left that the whole thing was a scam and Our Revered Leader, El Con, was nothing but a druggy, shyster?

Scientology is one of the deepest cons I know. It's really mind boggling the hold that Hubbard has instilled in others. Granted, it's a skill though a sick one. The whole charade will one day topple over as it truly is a house of cards.
