Vinay, there’s also what Hubbard wrote in his more mellow moments and that which he wrote when in his manic phases. We all signed up to forward the pro-survival goals he professed, then got trapped into his less-survival-minded paranoia and sociopathy. How many times did we all fail to help our friends who merely needed a shoulder to lean on and an open ear? “No case on post”, “don’t discuss your case out of session”, No verbal tech”, were all codes for “Don’t examine the ‘tech’. and “Don’t help a friend in need with the most basic of help, two-way comm.”

Nancy, IMO and others’, Hubbard WAS a serial killer. How many of his loyal followers died unnecessarily by following Tubby’s demon-exorcizing instructions rather than getting evidence and science-based medical treatment? MSH, Annie Broeker, and Captain Bill come easily to mind. All were far more loyal than he deserved.

Vinay, I see any inroads scientology makes ANYwhere as insanely dangerous. Thankfully, the alliance with NOI seems self-correcting though it may take awhile before the final dust-up explodes. I can’t imagine two groups more diametrically opposed.
