Yes, it is VERY over drugged. Especially children. Very few adults need it. Most are just given a pill to shut them up. MANY doctors have told me so.

There have always been people with mental illness. Always. It’s not new. If you are under the impression that a percentage of women have not always suffered horribly with hormone related mood disorders, you are obviously not terribly well read. We used to be friendless, reviled, imprisoned, isolated, homeless, unemployable. If we get therapy and are willing to take meds as needed (I have never been forced to take meds,) we get to go to school, have jobs and relationships, be with friends, laugh, have homes. I didn’t choose this because I saw a commercial. I am now a highly educated person with a wonderful family. I have a psychiatrist, a therapist and take my meds.I am grateful for real science every day.

In 21st century America, Scientology is distinctly predatory and cruel. Historically, sure, other religions have behaved badly. But, if you want to prevent the crimes of scientology it’s important to not become relativist about why and how a predatory religion functions. If we say “all religion is the same,” we render ourselves incapable of discerning evil, and impotent in protecting ourselves and others from it.

In my opinion, here’s how the cult gets these whale-sized donos. Now, with you and/or I its a non issue because even if we would be so inclined, we don’t HAVE it. I certainly don’t.

But the people who ARE rich, who DO have it, I think they give because they think like this:

“Hmmm, could be BS. This is a lot of money. Something doesn’t really add up here. But then, we’re talking about ETERNITY No-one really KNOWS what’s gonna happen…it could be bad…REAL bad…so, if I give them this money, what can it hurt?…maybe I AM safeguarding my eternity…and if I’m not, and its all BS, well, they’ll give me a plaque and say nice things about me and I’ll be looked up to…not so terrible, and I can afford it…you can’t take it with you, after all, and just to be on the safe side…Ok, I’ll do it. Better safe than sorry!”

etk, in other religions, also heavy donors get special attention and discreet passes. The Cult of Scientology is only copy catting. I know one couple who are heavy donors to their kids’ private Catholic prep school This couple met as students themselves at this school and started going together there but she quit school at 16 to become a model and never got her GED afterwards He was valedictorian of his class. Just last year this Catholic school threw a huge gala honoring them with commendations and what not and hundreds of people toasting them – and not just him, btw, both of them, with her name BEFORE her husbands, and both of them up there on the dais. But they’re wealthy and they have given the school plenty of money, and their parents have been heavy donors to the school, so the fact that she got bad grades and dropped out at 16 is a non issue for the RC Church. The cult is just jumping on a bandwagon that’s been going strong for ages. Heaven has been being sold to the wealthy for a very long time. Probably a lot more people would buy in if they could but they don’t have the dough.

No, just making a comment about the over drugging of our society. Example, doctors are now promoting taking anti depressants to woman who are menstruating or pregnant. Why? woman for centuries didn’t need to. Has nothing to do with “a cruel set of beliefs invented by a single Sci Fi writer?”

The crime scene tape stays up because there IS plenty to see here folks. There are Christians who handle rattlesnakes and Hindus who pull heavy statues of deities hooked into their flesh but the church of scientology, besides its dubious belief system, happens to have policies that harm people who don’t choose to adopt its beliefs. That’s why we speak out and why crime scene tape is appropriate.
