Yes, I cringe too, with embarrassment at having been theoretically one of them in the past. I also shrink from confronting the idea of anyone linking me with them in the present. The entire organization that is the CO$ along with those still in are embarrassing – mostly in their utterly amazing inability to be themselves embarrassed!

Boulder is a mission, so a minimal schedule would be typical. However, its listing on the Scientology missions website actually shows it open 6 hours each day Monday through Thursday in the late afternoon and evening, and additional hours the other 3 days of the week, though we have reports that the missions often don’t really keep the hours claimed. One location I visited recently seemed to be actually used by the proprietor for some sort of other business – possibly what allowed them to keep it open at all – and closed when they were out attending to other things.

Reports indicate that some missions do a have a bit of activity, such members taking basic courses, or even some auditing. Boulder is a prosperous hotbed of aging baby boomers and newer generation spiritual seekers, so the sorry state of Scientology there shows that it has no prospects even in what should be fertile recruiting grounds.
