Well, even ignoring the typical spelling error in the headline, this is sick. There is an "extremely bright side" to this tragedy? And that is this: We have yet another opportunity to collect money from you for you to buy more copies of WTH. Of course, everyone knows the WTH will stop terrorism -- especially when you give it to the VICTIMS of terrorism. … [Read more...]
Twisted Policy
Saturday is Terra Cognita day... Twisted Policy Why have so many of LRH’s Scientology policies been twisted to the point where they do more harm than good? Did the man consciously intend that these policies be used for evil purposes? Did he write them expressly to harm mankind? To exploit others? Was this all some elaborate scheme to make himself rich? Did he intentionally include material in these policies that would inflict hurt and damage? Did he really plan it all out this way? Examples abound of polices that were horribly twisted and misapplied over the years: conditions; d … [Read more...]
Ideal Org Fail Chapter 327
13 years of massive international expansion" generated by the "ideal org program" has not seen the orgs in these cities make it to ideal Battle Creek* Boston Detroit* Columbus Chicago* Long Island Philadelphia* Orlando Puerto Rico New Haven* And not a SINGLE org in the entirety of the Eastern Unites States has achieved the size of "old St Hill" (which by definition is the "make-break" point -- below which orgs are unviable and staff are not paid well according to LRH). This includes the "ideal orgs" in NYC, Washington DC, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Miami (Tampa is part of Flag … [Read more...]
The World’s Fastest Growing Religion ;)
Scientology has routinely claimed it is the "World's Fastest Growing Religion" - in fact, this video is shown in EVERY scientology org as an introduction to the subject (it is even listed on IMDB). Below is an interesting article forwarded to me by one of our Special Correspondents. It will come as no surprise that scientology doesn't rate a mention. It is not even included as an "Other" when that includes: African traditional religions, Chinese folk religions, Native American religions, Australian aboriginal religions, Baha’i faith, Jainism, Shintoism, Sikhism, Taoism, T … [Read more...]
Aaron Smith-Levin on Child Abuse
This is a new video from my good friend and Season 1 contributor Aaron Smith-Levin. Here is how he describes it: I discuss unreported physical child abuse within the Scientology organization, illustrated by a personal experience I recently remembered. When I was 15 years old (1996), while I was a full-time staff member at the Philadelphia Org, an adult public Scientologist knocked me unconscious with a punch to the head in the reception area of the org. Authorities never contacted. Charges never pressed. Details discussed. … [Read more...]
Season 2 Aftermath Special: Aftermath
As I did after each program in the first season, I am putting this here as a place for people to make comments about the show that has just aired. The outpouring of support has been amazing already, just as it was in Season 1. As always, I am interested in your views - including criticisms and things you think might be better explained or covered. For new readers here I thought you might find it instructive to be directed to some earlier postings that may help explain some things. You may have seen some of the over-the-top statements about Leah, me or anyone who has a differing opinion … [Read more...]
Dianetics Survey
Bridge Publications is doing their best to encourage people to share their honest opinions about Dianetics on Amazon. Of course, this is a stacked deck. They ONLY send this out to scientologists. It appears they are doing a pretty good job. For Dianetics to have a 71% 5 star rating, it means that 71% of the reviews have been done by scientologists. Because regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the fundamental principles of Dianetics, there can be no doubt that it is NOT clearly written and is a tough read (assigning the difficulty in reading the book to "misunderstoods" is … [Read more...]
Valley OTC Minutes
We havent heard from the Valley OTC since last December. Of course, they have opened their most important, largest ideal org on earth since then. Now they have resurfaced with some interesting minutes. Full disclosure, I happen to be close to the new org and drive by it once a week at least just out of curiosity. There has been NO SIGN OF LIFE whatsoever any of the times I have driven past. It is certainly a LARGE building. On a busy street. Though not a lot of body traffic (few locations in LA have many people walking anywhere). The picture above from the scientology website illustrates it … [Read more...]
Deadline Earth
There are two the things needed to keep the believers believing - convincing them it's an "us against them" world and that there is urgency to the good fight - "the end of the world is nigh." This is pretty common in any fundamentalist organization. LRH was no exception. This is one of his ramblings from 1965. He published it in The Auditor. It was meant for all scientologists to read. He explains, with absolute certainty, that scientology will determine whether your "kid will ever see sixteen." Scientology certainly didn't change the world in the ensuing 16 years, and by 1981 … [Read more...]
Miscavige on Miscavige: Promises, Promises
This is a blog post from 29 May 2013 that I am republishing today because I thought it interesting and still timely (And frankly was too busy to write a new post). One of our Special Correspondents sent me an excerpt of Miscavige's only print media interview. It is of interest for a number of reasons, but most significantly, it makes clear why he is scared of the press. He has no control over revising history with the media as he does with his internal public (try to find an event video in any org on the planet that has Heber Jentzsch or Ray Mithoff in it.... they have been written out … [Read more...]
