There is quite a lot to be gleaned from this FB post and the comments. First, and most obvious, these scientologists are apparently NOT at cause over their lives and are struggling financially. Second, their solution is NOT to "solve it with scientology." Haven't they read all the success stories from the people who listened to the ACCs and it totally changed their life/handled all their problems/ got them moving on the Bridge etc etc? Not going to be auditors who are cause over life? They didn't even take them out of the plastic wrappers. So many scientologists have been convinced to … [Read more...]
Money on Account — Can You Ever Get It Back?
Going to Have to Sell a LOT of Cupcakes
This is not going to make the grade. It's almost sad to think these poor deluded people in one of the absolute forgotten, backwater scientology organizations are holding a bake sale to try to get an ideal org (and it's not even IN Aarhus, but at AOSHEU because there are only a handful of scientologists in Aarhus itself). It's like some kids with lemonade stand raising money to buy a house in Beverly Hills. After 20 years of the ideal org program, they're just now getting going on Aarhus... Cause over life? … [Read more...]
Carrot on a Stick — Literally
This is what the mighty ideal org in Melbourne is reduced to. Holding a farmer's market to try to get anyone to show up at their building so the regges have some prey to circle. One of our commenters quoted Hubbard concerning yesterday's post and it’s entirely applicable here: SOLVE IT WITH SCIENTOLOGY [Excerpt from HCO Policy Letter of 24 February 1964 Urgent-Org Programming) If the Org slumps: Don’t engage in “fund raising” or “selling postcards” or borrowing money. Just make more income with Scientology. It’s a sign of very poor management to seek extraordinary solutions fo … [Read more...]
The Pitch: Give Us Your Money Because That’s What LRH Did…
This happy looking, uptone pitchman is Jon DeVries -- formerly an executive in CMO International is now an ideal org fundraiser in South Africa. He has come up with a novel raft of lies to try to gather $6 million for “the last two ideal orgs in S. Africa” (I guess they have abandoned the two orgs in Zimbabwe). Like every scientologist everywhere he has found an LRH quote that seems to justify handing over money. This is what Hubbard said that he quotes: "The giving of something is a very high goal. You have to be in good shape to give things. If you're in good shape you can. Wi … [Read more...]
More Hype = More Fail
A recent leak from inside the bubble inadvertently disclosed the state of scientology “expansion.” Now we have more. These statements are from a recent “briefing” (ideal org fundraiser) where they have to walk a fine line: on one hand they need to maintain the party line that everything in the world of scientology is going gang-busters, on the other hand there's a desperate need for money right now, right now, right now because the world is coming to a rapid end. Then again, the sheeple are so conditioned to swallowing bs they accept even the most blatantly obvious lies and contrad … [Read more...]
Flag: Pan-Denominational Fundraising
Scientology, according to Hubbard is pan-denominational and is thus harmonious and accepting of all other religions, in fact it embraces them all. In Hubbard's view, scientology is the culmination and is senior to all other religions as it provides the answers that all other religions have sought. He expressed this concept in the photo shoot he did with history's "thinking men" and "religious leaders" all coming to see scientology as the answer -- a composition he included in the What Is Scientology tome (he took the photos of all these characters and then had them converted into artistic … [Read more...]
What Do Your Ideal Org Donations Buy?
The obvious answer of course is "empty buildings," but I found the background of this shot interesting. These days, buying statuses in the IAS and "Ideal Org Program" has become the new "thing" - status in scientology used to be measured by OT level gained and before that by auditor training level. There has always been a heavy emphasis on attaining perceived superiority since the first days of Dianetics. These days status in scientology is attained through money, not training and auditing. The goofiness of stuff that passes for status in scientology is sometimes hard to fathom -- the … [Read more...]
The Feshbach Brothers
I was either unaware, or had forgotten, that there is a 4th Feshbach brother. A reader sent me a note that about this and I was surprised. The 3 (in)famous scientologists, Joe (now deceased), Matt and Kurt used to be mainstays of the scientology whale pod of wealthy contributors to all causes. They have faded into the background today. As I said, Joe passed away and his wife Cindy moved to Austin (their daughter, Jessica was Katie Holmes' handler and formerly married to Tommy Davis). Matt and Kathy came out second best in their battle with the IRS over $3.8 million in … [Read more...]
Give Us Your Money for Christmas
Scientology, in the "spirit of Christmas" wants you to give them money for a building in Puerto Rico. "This is our chance to give an incredible Christmas gift..." So typically scientology that "our gift" is for you to hand over your money... Two public people are "hosting" what they call the "Ideal Miracle Event" in Flag's restaurant. The Old Man is spinning in his grave thinking about "FCCI's" doing events in Sea Org buildings. The best bit about this is LRH quote. Such incredible arrogance: "We are the protectors of the real tradition of Christmas..." -- that "real … [Read more...]
