Safe in Wake of Hurricane Helene
A lot of friends have checked in on us in the wake of the hurricane that passed by yesterday. Fortunately we survived unscathed. Lots of fallen branches and we lost power and don’t know when it will be restored making for a warm house, no internet or ability to cook. But those are minor discomforts in the overall scheme of things and certainly insignificant compared to the losses of so many others. Thank you all for your thoughts and support as always. Health Update
Hi Christie and I wanted to provide a brief health update as so many people ask. Due to some recent symptoms my oncologist ordered a bronchoscopy and a biopsy of lung tissue last week. This saga began a year ago with a persistent cough and difficulty breathing which set in motion a chain of events that resulted in a thoracentesis (draining of fluid from lungs) which when tested showed cancerous cells. Last weekend, Christie and the boys and I visited Washington DC courtesy of an incredible organization: Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation My oncologist referred us to them, and we were soon contacted by Kerry McGavin to help us make arrangements. A Day to Remember
Ten years ago today I married this beautiful woman. Best decision I’ve ever made. She is in all respects my better half. Not only super smart, tough and resilient, she is also kind, compassionate and caring. She is a wonderful mother, a successful businesswoman and our family’s social coordinator.
