Leah and I were interviewed by Jake Tapper Friday evening. You can watch the segment here. Unfortunately, breaking news cut us a little short, but Jake gave us an opportunity to cover plenty of ground. We really appreciate him reaching out to us and the fact that he had gotten himself familiar with the facts in the case. As he says, this is an under reported topic -- we hope he will do more. And that other national media will follow his lead. … [Read more...]
Thank You for the Well Wishes
I want to thank Denver SteveO and all the people who appeared in his wonderful video. He put this together and used it to raise funs for the Aftermath Foundation, which is a marvelous thing to do. His kindness and that of all those people who appear in the video is enormously appreciated. If you are not subscribed to his YouTube channel, do so here. Everyone's support and good wishes are very important to me. They give me strength. Thank you. … [Read more...]
An Update
A Day to Remember
Ten years ago today I married this beautiful woman. Best decision I’ve ever made. She is in all respects my better half. Not only super smart, tough and resilient, she is also kind, compassionate and caring. She is a wonderful mother, a successful businesswoman and our family’s social coordinator. Christie always puts the needs of the family first - equal parts nurse, angel, chauffeur, comforter, soccer mom and cleanup crew. Life would be empty without you honey… here’s to 10 more years! … [Read more...]
Mike Rinder: “Lady Killer”
This is the ninth (and final) "vacation" post, revisiting some of the more important articles to have appeared on my blog over the years. This one seems especially appropriate given the attacks will surely ramp up seeking to discredit me as my book comes out. This subject has also been extensively addressed by both Stefani Hutchinson and Jeffrey Augustine at their blogs. The original post and comments are here. While the "church" of scientology has kindly nicknamed me "Lady Killer," the strange reason for this deserves some context. This post also serves to demonstrate the … [Read more...]
Happy New Year
Enjoying a wonderful New Year with friends... I hope you are too. I believe 2022 is going to be a watershed year in the world of scientology for two main reasons. The pandemic has taken its toll on an organization that relies on keeping people inside an information bubble that needs personal contact and briefings. Emerging from the pandemic, assuming this happens in 2022, when so many have been distanced from the controlling influences of the organization is going to be revelatory. It will expose the truth about the real state of scientology — which is a shell of its former … [Read more...]
Merry Christmas
For those who celebrate Christmas, have a wonderfully enjoyable time with friends and family today and over the weekend. For those who don't celebrate this occasion, have a wonderful day too. Really, no excuse is needed to have a wonderful day! And of course, there is always one thing to be joyful about. You are not locked inside the scientology bubble and can think for yourself. The greatest freedom anyone can ever attain. I will likely leave this post up for a couple of days, and take a break myself this weekend. Regraded Being will be here with a new classic on Monday. … [Read more...]
How About a Podcast?
We have so many people ask us when we are coming back to continue our work, but, circumstances have made some things impossible right now. So, we were thinking of things we could do and wondered if a Podcast might be something worth looking into. We could record episodes without a team of people to operate lights and cameras etc. What do you think of the idea? If you think it might be worth exploring, we would love to hear what you would be interested in hearing about. And even ideas for a good name for it. Are there specific things you felt we didn't cover in The Aftermath series … [Read more...]
An Open Letter to My Family first published on 25 May 2010
See my announcement on Friday -- I am revisiting earlier posts during my vacation. Each day there will be a different one. While I might write this a bit differently today it still overall delivers the same message... Dear Andrew, Taryn & Cathy, You made a big issue out of my failure to respond to your letters, so I am responding herewith to the letters each of you sent. I note that Jude sent me a letter when I was living in Denver – but didn’t send another in the second round after I moved near where she lives, and Benjamin didn’t send me a letter at all. I guess the Church is … [Read more...]
Family Vacation
We are taking a one week vacation with the family and friends. During this time, it will be difficult to do new postings. I have selected a number of earlier favorite and most popular posts to republish. I have opted primarily for older ones, things that current readers may never have read before -- mostly from more than 5 years ago. There is nothing scientific about the selection. Just what I came across that took my fancy. Things will return to normal on the 15th of March. Some of these postings are worth a new read or reread in light of events that have transpired since they … [Read more...]
