No surprise, scientology does not like The Aftermath Foundation. Also no surprise, their OSA minions are actively trying to shut us down. This is just more Fair Game -- attacking "enemies" as they are required to do. Some background: We learned last year that the Charleston Principles govern non-profit and charitable organizations in relation to state registration requirements, factoring in online fundraising elements that did not previously exist. Under these principles, a non-profit organization is required to register with a given state if they 1. Receive in excess of $25,000 in … [Read more...]

A New Review of A Billion Years
Justin Clark, a public historian and writer based in the Midwest, reached out to let me know he had read my book and written a review for the Truth Seeker, one of the oldest publications dedicated to humanism and freethought. He also published it on his blog I am including it here as it is one of the most complete, yet concise summaries of my book. Justin does a remarkable job of covering so much in what is a fairly lengthy review -- but given how much it covers, it's quite a feat to have kept it a manageable length. He also did a podcast talking about the book and The Aftermath … [Read more...]

Letters to Congress
Leah and I have often responded to the question "What can I do to help?" by saying people should write to their elected representatives to demand action. I have been asked a number of times whether there is a form letter to use. Two people have recently sent me copies of letters they have written that may help. The first is a fairly lengthy, footnoted letter and the author has made it possible for you to download it here including the footnotes. He also graciously provided some instructions and guidance on how to go about this: Hello! Beginning on the next page is a … [Read more...]
The Aftermath Foundation Assists Sam Crabtree
The information below was provided by Aaron Smith-Levin, along with an interview video he did with Sam Crabtree. I knew both his parents in the Sea Org back in the day, his father Paul more than his mother Debbie, especially when he was the Cram Off RTC. The video is a long one, but fascinating. Sam is a second-generation Scientologist born into the Sea Org in 1983. His parents left the Sea Org when he was 6 years and raised Sam as a public Scientologist. After serving three more years in the Sea Org from age 17 to age 20 Sam moved to Clearwater to again be a public Scientologist. Sam … [Read more...]
