There is no new podcast this week as we take a break for Thanksgiving, but there will be one next week and it’s going to be a goodie.
Take the opportunity to go back and listen to any that you may have missed.
I am also interested in hearing:
- What your favorite episode(s) have been and why
- Who you would like us to invite on
- Any topics you would like us to focus on
- If you have questions for future listener question episodes.

? is the podcast over? I see no new uploads from #80.

Just taking a break

I’m with you. Ready for the break to be over.

I’m really curious about Jett Travolta. Did John allow his son to do scientology since he had a mental illness?

I just listened to a Law 360’s Pro Say podcast about the US military justice system. I learned that it is self-contained which may be similar to Scientology’s private justice system
There was a case discussed in which a rape victim was not served justice as her perpetrator was found innocent by a jury made up of his friends, rather than an impartial group.

I have listened to and appreciated all of the episodes!
I would love to have one be on what happened within the mission network and its current status. Those were crazy days in the time of the “financial police” etc.
Also, I think an episode on what The Aftermath Foundation has done to help people who are leaving. Maybe they don’t want to speak but maybe talking about how many and some of the situations etc.

Hello Mike,
Thank you so much for all that you and Leah continue to do to help those hurt by Scientology and for educating
those of us never ins or almost ins.
I was wondering if you could discuss on the podcast about one of my musical heroes, Chuck Corea. He is an example of true musical genius of iconic proportion. Yet at the same time he was so devoted to Scientology until the end of his life. Would it be possible to discuss the dynamics Of his involvement with the organization?

I always look forward to each podcast on Tuesday mornings! Just curious if the Presleys (Lisa Marie and Priscilla) are still members. Thought I’d heard Lisa Marie dropped out. And Anne Archer (Tommy Davis’ mom) is she still in? Any stories you can tell? We hear so much about Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
maria mccartan says
I would love to hear more about your story Mike, i’m guessing it wouldn’t be an easy story to tell though so i’m sure we will all hear it when your good and ready.

Ex-Mormons Radio Free Mormon (a lawyer) and Bill Reel (a former Mormon bishop) are interesting and entertaining. Here’s the playlist of their weekly Mormonism Live program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwKqcOjJSBg&list=PLq34QmiHsNjfs8Nw_mFgMGv_3hrFYNs9f

Hi Mike,
A question for you – in the first John Sweeney documentary, he arrives back at his hotel very late at night and you and Tommy Davis were waiting for him.
I’ve always wondered, how long were you waiting there for, and how much longer would you have stayed?
A small detail, but I was struck by the investment in time Scientology put into pursuing him.
Also, the poster called TruthSeeker is the same name as an apologist who was frequent at alt.religion.scientology. They always replied to any post with really stupid questions – it seemed to be some kind of amends project but lots of people wondered who that person was and what they thought they were accomplishing.
TruthSeeker says
Really stupid questions?
You mean questions like, “How long people were waiting before someone finally came into the building where they were waiting?”
Or do you mean questions that are even more stupid than that?
What was I trying to accomplish? Maybe I was just trying to get people to divert their time from battling against Scientology and arrange for them to sit around in a circle clucking. Do you know what I mean by “clucking”?
It’s when people imitate chickens and sit and cluck. You know, “Cluck. Cluck. Cluck.”
longtime reader says
Hey, how’s it going? You’ve been doing this for a very long time – would you mind sharing your experience in Scientology (and why you post here)? If I’m not mistaken, you must be in a special role if you were allowed to read a.r.s because the Internet in general was off-limits and the newsgroup was definitely forbidden, much like this blog.
Anyway, I hope you find happiness in life – it’s too short to rage post on the Internet.
TruthSeeker says
Why do I post here?
I want to make it clear that Mickey’s motto – “Something can be done about it” – is just a fraud.
This blug has been around for a long time but has done precious little about it. Scientology has been slowly shrinking for a very long time and will likely continue to shrink. But that has very little to do with Mickey.
Mickey makes it sound like he provides a path for people to put an end to Scientology. But that is not true. The TV show did a lot to hasten its demise. But that was almost entirely due to Leah – not Mickey. Leah could have done that all by herself. Mickey never could.
In the past few years, Mickey has invited people to send money to support this blug and people have sent him money. He has learned the art of getting people to donate money from the years he spent in Scientology. He may not abuse people like they do. But they both use many similar techniques.
Bottom line? Mickey is a fraud and sending him money is a waste of time and money.
Someone asked why I call him Mickey. I consider his efforts to end Scientology are just a “Mickey Mouse” type hoax. Scientology may die one day. But that will have almost nothing to do with Mickey.

Sigh, you really are a nasty spiteful little child aren’t you. Now I remember who you remind me of, a fuck witted moron named Foolproof.

What your favorite episode(s) have been and why — they are all good but Paulette Cooper was especially interesting
Who you would like us to invite on — Have you seen this guy Reckless Ben on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@reckless_ben — it would be interested in speaking to him about why he is trolling Scientology. Does he have family members in Scientology? Does it have anything to do with seeing The Aftermath? Also I’d love to hear about how he’s been Fair Gamed since his videos have gone viral
Any topics you would like us to focus on – I’d love to have you do a deep dive about how Milton Katselas and the Beverly Hills Playhouse used acting classes to recruit actors into Scientology.
If you have questions for future listener question episodes. – I’d love to hear more about how Leah’s family got out. Was there disconnection in the family when Nicole left while Leah and Vicki were still in? Did Vicki leave at the same time as Leah? How did they discuss this without fear of one filing a Knowledge Report on the other?
Enturbulation Nation says
I’ll answer #2. I’d like to hear Jeff Augustine on a second time. Always interesting to hear about criminal activity that appears on the surface – outside of the Scio sphere, but actually ties neatly back to Scientology Inc.
Both of you enjoy your well-deserved break, and remember….. no illusion, or natural/man-made obstacle will disrupt the desired outcome of this fight (may just add more waiting time 😉 ).
Looking forward to next week’s show.

QUESTION FOR FUTURE ‘LISTENER QUESTION’-EPISODE: Hi Leah and Mike, I’m from Copenhagen, Denmark. It’s seems to me that Copenhagen is somewhat of a hub for Scientology in Europe? Is that right?
There is a big new refurbished – quite empty – ‘Ideal Org’ on Nytorv (New Square), one of the main squares in downtown Copenhagen. There the ‘Advanced Organization & Saint Hill Europe’ / ‘AOSH EU’, another large building, just 10 minutes’ walk from the ‘Ideal Org’. And researching I found that there are both a ‘New Era Publications’ in the suburb of Glostrup and a ‘Narconon Europa’ in Helsinge and so on.
Why does Denmark have so much Scientology “activity”?
PeaceMaker says
Nick, perhaps related, there seem to be a quite a few young Danes, especially women, in Scientology’s Sea Org in the US, from what we see in photos and social media postings. Perhaps someone with inside knowledge, and familiar with the history, can explain it all to us.
Overrun in California says
Jeffrey Augustine is one of the most knowledgeable and captivating guest you’ve had.
Love to see more of him.

Mike and Leah: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing the Fair Game podcast. I have used it along with the show on Netflix (A&E) docuseries you won awards for; Scientology – the Aftermath to get others out. It works too.
Very effective bubble shattering data.
I was wondering if you would do a show featuring ex scientologists who were not born in but rather got manipulated in via Scientology Front Groups. A show featuring the “walk- in” or “roped-in” to discuss just how DANGEROUS Scientology is for those vulnerable trusting people that believe walking in to a “church” in the United States is SAFE.
Walking into a church in the United Statese is much like walking into a criminal mafia organization where they are lawless to do whatever they want; fraud, manipulation, deceit and then are protected by the constitution so nothing is done about it.
I recall contacting the FBI when I left the organization and realized what a scam and con Scientology truly was and they told me “you signed legal documents” so the FBI KNOWS Scientology is a cult and harms people. It is sad they don’t do anything about it.
We must expose the truth and be relentless about it – like you two are everyday. THANK YOU.
For anyone considering trying Scientology, DO NOT!
MIND CONTROL WORKS when Hubbard’s trickery is applied standardly.
If you have an education and are somewhat aware of cults in our midsts, it will not be enough to protect you from the undue influence, trickery, shenanigans, traps and snares cleverly designed by L Ron Hubbard.
The members are highly trained to trick, lie, love bomb, deceive and manipulate vulnerable “raw meat” into giving up their money, time and families to clear the planet and the brain washing works just as effectively today as it did when you were slowly boiled like a frog starting in cold water as a child.
I am willing to be interviewed as a ex Scientolgist who went up the Bridge to Power Plus, got trained up to Pro-Metering, never was on staff or Sea Org, gave thousands of dollars to the IAS and the infamous Idle Morgue scams as well as spent about $150,000 going clear only to lose my ability to read, spell and suffered from what I think was Complex Post Tramatic Stress Disorder – complete with panic attacks after I left. It was horrible and it took me educating myself on Hubbards tricks to heal. It took years.
I left Scientollogy after I witnessed firsthand, crimes via the MECCA – the Flag Land Base Organization.
I will tell you all about it.
Contact me via the email provided. I am ready to talk about it. I hope to help others from going into this very dangerous and hideously evil cult.

Bruce Hines. I would love to listen to a conversation with Bruce Hines with him doing most of the talking and is asked follow-up questions.
I would love to hear anything he has to say about his thought processes in leaving and what he went through after he got out.
I didn’t get enough of Bruce Hines.

Hey Mike and Leah. My favorite episodes are the listener questions episodes because we listeners have the opportunity to communicate with you guys and I can say that reaching out to you guys is very difficult. I was eager to hear my question in your podcast but it sadly didn’t happen. Maybe next time. By the way I sent Leah a support video on twitter in which I voiced my support for you and her and other people who are combatting the injustice in Scientology. If you haven’t seen the video yet you can ask her about it. You guys get a lot of hate and therefore I felt like making this support video in order to remind you and Leah and the others that there are people like me who support you.

I think every episode is unique and never repetitive. I get to mind those with Paulette Couper and Jon Atack, but without excluding others. All give a piece of history.
A person I would definitely feel like hearing is Jason Beghe.
For the Listener question about Mary Sue and what happened after she came out of prison and that DM and others went to her to make her sign some kind of renunciation.

I’m not sure who actually this could be, John Atack maybe, someone who knows and understands Scientology in the U.K., but I always feel like East Grinstead is pretty much erased from Scientology folklore due to it being so US focused these days, but to me the current situation in Clearwater, and those fighting back against what is happening, are missing a HUGE trick by not knowing, understanding and learning from the decades long battle that the people of East Grinstead had against the attempted ‘takeover’ of the town, even if it was less… well funded than is happening in CW. I’m sure a lot of the readers and commenters here will have actually spent time at St Hill either in the SO or as public on course and lived in and around the Sussex area in a way that second gener’s and younger Scientologists never have, but the town really did have such a tough time, and has been pretty successful in pushing them back within the walls of St Hill, although it literally took 40 years or more. Maybe it wouldn’t make an interesting podcast, I dunno, but it just feels like there is so much Clearwater, both the city and the people, could learn from what happened in E.G. that may have helped change the course of things but because it’s ‘a place way over there’ and little more than a part of Scientology history and the host of the IAS event for those who grew up since Flag became Mecca, they don’t understand the infiltration and attempted takeover that happened, and something that rarely actually gets covered. The hounding of critics who lived around there in the 80s and 90s was quite something to behold for starters!

JSB,
I like your idea.
Hoping this idea gets explored more on this blog.
Thanks to everyone who spreads the word about how evil
and criminal this so-called “religion” and its leaders are.
Carry on, Mike!

Yes, totally agree. Would love to hear more about East Grinstead and the stories of what went on/goes on at Saint Hill.
