This reminds me of the good and genteel folk of East Grinstead and the net financial benefit they have gained over the years from the presence of the cult that they have learned to respect, tolerate and to rub their fingers on its money. All these good folk know that child abuse happens in the cult. They even have their child welfare agency set up to return naughty, absconding Sea Org children back to the cult, into the hands of their handlers, for deserved punishment and humiliation for their ungrateful break for freedom from the “in-exchange” tasks they are given to do. And in the child welfare services returning these children, the children learn that escape is not possible and so they learn to obey and never question or complain. This is the cozy relationship the good people of East Grinstead have with the cult in their midst that commits these children to a life of misery and slavery.

I would love to see a class action suit against the local council by these ex-Sea Org children, who managed to break free, against the local council – perhaps for a few billion, to redress the financial advantage the good and genteel folk of East Grinstead gained through their slavery.

Some days, I wonder if maybe I am too tied up in this whole fighting Scientology thing and should just step away, then the double whammy reminder of Alexander Jentzch’s death (see Karen D’s comment on Tony’s blog) and Regraded Being’s cartoon hit me and I am reminded that I am not fighting because of anything that happened to me but because there are real live helpless beings in there being harmed today.

One of the great comforts I take (and it is actually a teeny tiny small comfort when it comes down to it) is that any escaping scientologist has learned a work ethic that is unparalleled.

They hopefully will be able to survive because they know how to work and survive on next to nothing because they have been beaten down to the bare essence of nothing, as long as they are able to escape and let go of the past (and that is the hardest part – taking that first huge couple of steps).

David Miscavige, on the other hand, is fighting for his life right now because his teeny empire is getting more and more unmanageable every day as increasing numbers of people shine huge spotlights on the abuses and frauds David Miscavige is perpetrating on the gullible.

Should his empire of dirt fall, Miscavige has been so pampered for so long, IMHO even if he were not imprisoned, he would self-destruct in no time flat because he has no survival skills.

He has no personality, no friends, and no useable job skills. He also has no work ethic, and expects others to wait on him hand and foot. He has created so many enemies that there are thousands who would jump at the chance to see him meet his justice. I may be wrong, but I think they only thing he has going for him in any fight is that he has no ability to feel shame or remorse. The only power right now is the money he has misappropriated.

And . . . I’ve more than used up my 2 cents here.

Go Valerie! It was your voice and the voices of all the others that have spoken out about the wrongs being committed by scientology that helped strengthen my courage when I left the church. I was hearing many of you say what I was afraid to even think. It was shameful to admit to myself that I had been duped.
After hearing other peoples experiences with the church I realized I got off easy. We read about Sara Goldberg, Gayle Smith, Jenna Miscavige Hill, Monique Rathbun, Jaime Sorrentini and other stories that have made their way to the public view but what about the other hundreds or maybe thousands of others who can’t or won’t speak out?
We become tired, afraid, ashamed or sometimes just plain fed up with the whole thing and want nothing more than to put it all behind us.
When I experience these feelings, I ask myself “What does COB really want from me?”
He wants my SILENCE. He wants our SILENCE.
So, Valerie, I’m really glad you’re here. You inspire me to become louder.

this cartoon is crazy true. A few years back , there was 2 kids no older than 13 talking in a hallway at CCint. Something about them was so sad and lost I listened to their conversation.
It was about MAYBE going home for Easter and MAYBE some parents visiting. I could feel the hope and brave front . The whole scene felt wrong , these children misplaced and abandonned. I didn’t tell anyone about it , in the Church context , I was being a softie , needed to toughen up , and maybe it is true too , but I still wanted to take them home.
I wish the fundraising for Nora and the telling of the kids stories had worked. It needs to be exposed .

and if you do get pregnant you are forced to abort or leave or become a class V staff member in an Ideal Org and starve. And if your husband wants to go with you he won’t be allowed and if he does he will be declared and you can never see him again. Its much better now don’t you think?

Because in the United States, politicians are afraid to allow Federal prosecutors to put “religious” people in prison despite getting caught raping children. Slave labor of children is less of a crime than sexually raping them outright however in this third world dung heap country of ‘meriKKKa, calling oneself “religious” is a get-out-of-prison-free card.

You are spot on, of course, Fredric. The operative word here, being; “afraid”.

At some level, eventually, it seems only the criminally ‘insane’, (ha! a convenient, get-out-of-prison-free-card, too! (with-the-right-lawyers, of course)) get to escape actual justice!

Even if being “afraid”, is felt in the form of losing out on payment of a huge legal fee! (from he- who-shall-not-be-named, of course!)

Mike, Marty, Luis, and the IRS, (to mention a few) have borne the brunt of this MO, directly from the untouchable ‘runt’ hisself!

As ‘untouchable’, as the stashed billions, which make it all possible!

Ironically, it was LRH who lamented: “Will any of you born revolutionists please blow up Central Headquarters?”

It just doesn’t get any nuttier, than this Church of Circu$-$hmirku$-ology.

The current trend is to protect “religion” above human rights and the cult of greed has tons of cash to pay the best lawyers on Earth and make sure everything is “legal.” That’s why you keep signing legal documents that strip you of all your rights all the way up the bridge. The legal armoured plate is at least 12” thick of legal binders that make you wrong in Court and prove that you knew what you were doing because you agreed and signed that the COG (cult of greed) or any of its associates or staff members or related entities could not under any circumstances be held responsible for anything happening to you.

Scientolgy’s recruiters are following LRH’s recruiting playbook, and the Sea Org recruiter’s who by chance hav e the LRH advic e to Luten Taylor of around 1977 or so, whenLuten was then ousted I believe in that Senior Personnel Officer meaning the Flag Bureau’s top HCO recruiter manager overseeing job, LRH says that the recruiters have to the arduousness of joining staff and not make it a rosy picture.

Hubbard was so completely overwhelmingly delusion ally incompetent in his own advice to the Sea org and throughout this Scientology movement’s history.

The RC church lets its monks and nuns stew mentally for years first and then long while trains them before making their lifetime commitments.

Hubbard was pulp writer slapdash brutally superficial which the Sea Org naturally perpetrates Hubbard’s mentality on themselves.

You’re right about the RC Church, Chuck. It takes years of gradient steps before a priest or a nun is made. They are given plenty of training as well as time to think, question and work out any issues. I knew a girl who told me she had wanted to be a nun since early childhood. At 18 she entered her noviciate (spelling?) and spent several years, became a Postulant (the next gradient) and then realized it wasn’t for her. She was released at 22, with the Sisters’ and Mother Superior’s blessings. When you compare this process with the cult’s modus operendi in obtaining their “clergy” it is frightening. Though not myself a Catholic, and notwithstanding some serious disagreements of mine with the actual philosophy of Roman Catholicism, I yet applaud their care and circumspection in the making of their nuns and priests.

Do they allow children to sign billion year contracts? I thought you had to be at least twelve. I don’t know anything about it except that children are just trillion year old thetans in little bodies. That’s all. So if you see them as cute or as in need of protection then apply some scientology to your mind and delete that sympathy implant.

Replace it with enthusiasm. Here’s how: stretch your lips as if you were trying to get the edges of your mouth to touch your ears. Be sure to show as many of your teeth as possible. Now open your eyes very wide and stare at somebody as though you were about to be thrown out of a twenty story window. Excellent tone four! Now, see those trillion year old thetans over there? And even with breast cancer now,I have been able to see that had I gone back I would not have had the time to continue my journey. Now Walter is much more understanding & we take one day at a time.I never ever would go back again.I learned that helping to widen those cracks in the cos and shining our combined light on Ron’s Policies and David’s black world,is where I should be.Bless you all.Love Ann.

Regarding the mission holders “conference” in San Francisco. I knew many of the mission holders. Back in the 70s, the missions were the place to be! Lots of fun and no over the top ethics. But the sick, evil dwarf swooped in and took all of their money. I believe the conference was in ’81 or ’82. Not only did many members leave the org I was at, many staff left too at the same time. That was also the time that the evil dwarf raised the prices by 5% per month. How blatant can you get! I’m glad I’m out and especially glad your family is safe now.

Thank you Tommy. I too was bowled over by Regraded Being’s comm today. Excellent job, Regraded.

This is one that could hit the media and everyone, in or out, active or ex, could understand at a visceral level. Those kids that sign these contracts have no concept of what it means, and no concept of how their lives will change. In the recruit cycle on my daughter when she was only 15, they took her to PAC for lunch. It was like, “see, the food here is good… sign here.” There is no talk that they are giving up their life and dedicating it to the cob (not even dedicating it to LRH or the goal of cleared planets anymore). They give up their childhood, their right to have kids of their own some day, their 2D as any 2D is broken up in the SO for the most part, their family and parents, their health, sanity and well being. I hope this Regraded Being comic strip makes it to the mainstream media. And by the way Leah Remini did a great job on the first show of the 2nd season of her program. They spent most of the time on the C of S and disconnection. Thank you Leah!

Great post, Cindy. So glad they didn’t get your daughter. These teens are totally hoodwinked to join up. I know a Still In whose then 14 year old daughter did a course on the Freewinds and was regged for SO in such a way that the girl BEGGED her parents to sign off on the contract. She was ready right then and there to drop everything and be an SO on the ship. The parents refused; at least the mother did, and the girl to date has not joined the SO, and for various reasons its now unlikely that she will ever do so. I see why the Sea Org is desperate to get their hands on the kids as young as possible. The older they get, the less gullible they are.

Thanks Cindy, ur post reminds me of how close I was to putting my daughter in that world. She would have not had the chance to experience any of those things in her life. I was never a good Scn thank God

Tommy, I’m so glad to hear that you thought twice about moving to CW and putting your daughter in a Scn school which heavily recruited kids for the SO. I also had to fight for a few of my kids who were recruited relentlessly for the S.O. My son was only 12 and my daughter 14. That was when it started but it didn’t end there. They were hounded for years, well into their young adulthood. I never won any popularity contests around the base but I always held the viewpoint that when it came to my children, I would do anything to ensure their well-being. I used to get pulled in for ‘interviews’ (interrogation) over my actions and get thinly veiled threats that I could get declared, which I always made it clear that they could go ahead with it and lose a whole family from Scientology. People need to stand up to these child predators. That’s exactly what I think of them.

Pepper – my hats off to you! You and I are the lucky ones, I count my blessing every single day, and your post warms my heart that other would put up with their BS.

The entire cult is repugnant. Everything is does is repugnant. Nothing it does is worthwhile. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities. None. Zero. Nada.

Not a blowtorch, Tia. That’s an arc welder, which emits burning blinding light to unprotected eyes and skin. That’s why the children’s faces are pink: they’re on the way to 2nd degree sunburnsI! I haven’t read Jenna’s book yet and am guessing RB is showing us one of the dangers those cadets were subjected to by the idiots in charge.

It would be interesting to know how many people died or got badly hurt because of work done without the minimum safety precautions. Oh sorry I forgot they were volunteering for religious activities! How can the US Government tolerate this North Korean mind bending cult on “religious” grounds? I guess politicians have so much to hide that they wouldn’t be very keen on risking an investigation to unearth dirt by a criminal organisation that has more money than the Justice Department to accomplish its hidden agenda.
