OSA looks for not looking bright and cheery when
the COB speaks, Jumping up and wildly clapping.
not giving over the top donations (D.M. loves free money)
Heel dragging for the newest status.

Special note to Heber,If you do get a shovel in your hands
use in head blows on everyone in your way to get out.
Pretend your Davy Crockett at the Alamo.

    Good Luck my Mormon friend.

I remember a great guy, supervisor at CC, full of life and intelligence. One day he just disappeared, we were told he went on a mission in New Zealand.
He was gone 2 years, when he came back , he had lost his wife , and the light in his eyes.
    He was in the rpf.

After Mike’s post about Heber, I thought of saying so much more in the comments about how the people judging him had no right to do so. I noted that the people who were subjected to similar things while in SO understood perfectly that Heber does not have free will any more. Heber has been subjected to torture for years.

Less than a month into her captivity, Elizabeth Smart would not tell a policeman her name when confronted in the library (sorry about the ad for the book at the end, copyright and link to the book become part of the text and won’t delete if you copy an iBook).

I honestly started reading Elizabeth’s book out of mild curiosity when Wanda Barzee was transferred from federal prison to a psych ward this week. I thought I would read a few pages and be one bored, especially knowing most of the details. However, her insight into being a captive and escaping it is profound, especially given her age.

The last sentence says exactly what I felt when being held captive by scientology: “part of it was the feeling that I had already lost my life and everything worth having–the feeling that I had gone too far to be saved.”

    Elizabeth’s words:

“Looking back on it now, I think that might have been the beginning of my subjection to him.
Soon I would be walking around the city with Mitchell and Barzee and not telling anyone who I was. Soon, I would be questioned by a policeman in the Salt Lake City Library, and not dare to answer when he asked me my name. People wonder how I could have done that. Why didn’t I cry out for help? Why didn’t I scream to escape when, finally, I had the opportunity?
The answer is difficult to explain, but it comes down to fear. Fear for my life. Fear for my family. Fear of the pain and humiliation. Part of it too was the constant intimidation. Part of it was the feeling that I had already lost my life and everything worth having—the feeling that I had gone too far to be saved.”

Valerie, thank you for that post. I read that book too, it’s such a fascinating story, and illustrates how a person can become “brainwashed” for lack of better word, and what factors into it. At so many points in the book I was thinking, just say something – tell someone! It was all the harder for Elizabeth as she was only a child when it happened, and was already accustomed to being somewhat docile. But anyway, mind coercion is real. I’m convinced Heber has been coerced in many ways over the years and the result is that he is unable to act in his own best interest.

Just like when I read Elizabeth Smart’s book and wanted to be able to help her, I wish I could do that for Heber, and others who are being controlled either physically and/or mentally. I don’t know what the answer is, and it’s frustrating to be unable to do anything to help.

I know! I was screaming inside my head – please, please, please just TELL someone. It was amAzing that the police were smart enough to separate her from her captors and ask Just. The. Right. Questions. in order to save her. Imagine if she had denied being Elizabaeth. . .She is one strong cookie.

Valerie, I feel like I’m crying inside reading your post. Thank you. I really get it about Heber now.

Regraded Being, you always hit either the nerve, the funny bone or both. While reading this, I found myself RESISTING it, thinking, “No, it can’t be this bad, it can’t be”. That was MY non-confront. It IS this bad. The evidence is all around us. It is this bad. Thank you, RB, for communicating these bitter and unpalatable truths in a way that they can be digested.

@aqua. I actually cried reading Elizabeth’s book (It amazed me that I did too).

The thing that kept her going is something the people inside scientology don’t have and that is the very strong knowlege that her family loved and missed her..

Imagine being told you are worthless every day and not thinking anyone out there cares. That’s what makes the stop disconnection billboard so powerful – it’s a sign that someone cares. No matter what they do do try to stop it now, you can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube, and it makes them look worse if they pretend disconnection is ok, which is their fallback position.

I’m sure that will be an order coming down soon…..there are only 3 birthdays allowed to be celebrated in Scientology…. LRH’s, COB’s and (of course) Tim Cruise’s.

Mike, there’s no need to share your birthday presents like this. A Regraded Being is a great treat for me on yet another Travel Sunday, fortunately to a place nowhere near any org this week. And what a subject for a strip. Although I am not part of the Everyone Loves Heber crowd, his fate is a true indictment of not only the Toxic Dwarf’s management style, but of L. Fraud’s vaunted PTS/SP “tech”.

Free Heber. Free Shelly. Free the Sea Borg. Now that’s Total Freedom.

A pleasant surprise to see RB.Badly missed him on Friday.
So real-life like.Nailed it as usual.
Loved that RPF supervisor. She looked like an aspiring ballet dancer that got sucked in by cc int in 1973 to “clear the planet through aesthetic motions in the Tech films”.Now she is old and invested and has no place to go.
Funny plot.Go to the Hole to dig and then fill holes because holes do not exist.
In the Freezone there used to be a scientology repair rundown, based on the psych repair rundown for staff that had just left and needed to decompress.
I wonder if just reading RB’s cartoons does not get that job done faster for the “non Brian” SO member when he blows the RPF.Does anyone have any experience with the RB decompression tech?

So true. I’ve seen Flag staff disappear overnight and when asked where they are the explanation is….” they are away on a project”. In one instance the girl was the daughter of a high executive on the ship and had shared a lot of personal information with me. It was in the ethics office and I have no doubt the conversation had been recorded (we all know there are video cameras in all auditing rooms) and later they jerked the poor girl into a sec check and then rpf’d her. Disgusting. Too many crimes to hide I guess.

The difference is that the SS initially produced a victory in nearly every battle they fought.
OSA these days is so dumbed down that they usually produce footbullets.

That’s a myth. If you want more truth about the SS divisions, read Victories Lost by Field Marshal Erich von Manstein (published ~1953). In the early years, the SS Divisions COMPLETELY lacked experienced military officers and non-com’s as they refused to draw from the Army. Their were “enthusiastic” but very ineffective early on as stand alone units.
