Scientology wasted no time putting this photo (and a bunch of others) onto their website. After all, this is the pinnacle of David Miscavige's (and thus scientology's) accomplishment. A "new org" is opened. This of course is not true, it is just a new building for the same old org as they all are. Scientology has not opened an actual new org in the last decade. Not a single one. I think Kaohsuing in Taiwan might have been the last one -- but that was long before the "new building" was opened. This is the big lie scientology tells its sheeple and the world. Their new … [Read more...]
Ruthless: How Will David Miscavige Respond?
Now that Ron Miscavige's book has been announced, I am offering some predictions on how his son will respond. This is based on past experience and reading Martha Stoutt's The Sociopath Next Door. David Miscavige fits the personality traits profiled in that book as if it were written exclusively about him. More than likely, the responses will come from "Karin Pouw," "Freedom" magazine or lawyers, even though dictated by Dave. He doesn't like to soil his image by commenting on things that are beneath his lofty station in life like a book by his father. But regardless of whom utters the v … [Read more...]
Still Milking It After All These Years
There is apparently no limit to the hype. "You gotta see this to believe it... The FUTURE really is now. Seriously? And what do you have to see that is the future now? SPOILER ALERT! Miscavige announcing the "imminent" opening of KCET. You got it right. Things have gotten so bad that he is AGAIN announcing the imminent opening of KCET. It's already been shown and endlessly pitched and the "Big News" for the March 13th event was something that is "going to be" done. In fact, if you look at the scientology.org website, it tells you everything you need to know and even … [Read more...]
The Missing St Hill Size Orgs
In March 1982, with great fanfare, L. Ron Hubbard issued a "game" to all scientology orgs. They were to 5.4X their stats and "achieve the size of old St Hill." When this was accomplished, Hubbard promised the staff would not only be well paid, "International Management" would send them a "Universe Corps" team so all staff could "go OT" in their local org. This was a really big deal -- these were the "buttons" of staff. It was impossible to live as a staff member without additional income and it was even more impossible to save enough money to travel to an AO and partake in OT levels. Life as a … [Read more...]
Fundraising Forever
What you see below are 4 letters asking someone in Clearwater for money for Orlando "ideal" org. All 4 of them were put into one envelope. Apparently the Orlando org does not have enough money to mail 4 separate letters. Nor do they have money for letterhead. Or anything but the cheapest paper and envelopes. Yet, after years of begging for money and failing, they were just given a new building. A building they don't need. A building they cannot afford. A building they couldn't even fill if they took everyone who has EVER been on staff and everyone who has EVER taken any scientology … [Read more...]
More on Google Trends
An interested reader sent this in after the recent posting on the subject of Alexa and Google trends. I found it interesting to see the correlation between "interest" in scientology and interest in Tom Cruise. And I thank Why Bother for bringing the Google Trends data to my attention. The graph shows the US trends and the following one shows the worldwide trends: And this one is Worldwide trends: The first spike in the infamous Oprah Couch jumping followed by the "glib" Matt Lauer commentary. April 2006 Suri is born. August 2006 Paramount terminates t … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Orlando Magic
Hey presto, it's a rabbit out of a hat. Suddenly, Orlando is the "next milestone done." It's pretty clear that nobody raised the funds for Orlando -- they are barely even an org and probably have less than 50 public and staff all told. "International management" paid for it (of course, there is no such thing as "international management" these days, it is David Miscavige and "helpers in favor at the moment.") Despite the chest pounding of the Flag OTC, they are ineffective in the ideal org fundraising game. They have been running the "Alliance" of Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and Puerto … [Read more...]
Super Bowl Planning
Things are not going too well with the big plans for the Super Bowl. Though there are 3 ideal orgs and another "almost" in the Bay area SFO (actually two -- Day and Fdn), Stevens Creek, Mountain View and Los Gatos; and with the "massive international expansion" scientology has been experiencing since David Miscavige took the helm, rocketed with the advent of the Golden Age of Tech, after-burnered with the Basics, shot skywards with the Golden Age of Knowledge, exploded into hyperdrive with the Golden Age of Knowledge II and Super Power and launched to the stratosphere with the Golden Age of … [Read more...]
2016 — The Year Of BS
Haven't had a chance to get this out yet. It perhaps encapsulates the reality within the scientology bubble better than anything. It is not only full of typos and spelling mistakes (Narcannon?), it is full of "scientology-think" - a strain of illogic that is sometimes hard to believe. And as an added bonus, it has a generous helping of shermanspeak ("the moment we synchronize with eternity" - perhaps it's some sort of get-together on infinity's porch?). You can read it for yourself, but don't spend a lot of time trying to make sense of the nonsensical. It will make you insane. Some … [Read more...]
