The Big Nothingburger Event

August 22, 2022 By Mike Rinder 44 Comments

The "wider" Bridge is the same old Bridge t . But boy are they excited! They don't have to wear gloves or masks any more and "only" require a 3-day quarantine if you come from "out of town." (Of course, people from "out of town" are much more contagious than those "in town") What is so amazing is that they think this is what has been "holding them back" -- that they could not deliver the Purif and TR's and Objectives. They have a much more fundamental problem than that. They cannot get new people to come in for ANY service. A serious question -- how does it make the … [Read more...]

Does The Purification Rundown Work?

January 20, 2021 By Mike Rinder 49 Comments

I had done an some earlier posts about the Purification Rundown, including one with an article from National Geographic "Purification Rundown Debunked" and a later one that generated a lot of comments entitled The Danger of Niacin.  A commenter responded to the first article with some interesting observations and I invited him to expand on the information he provided. I had forgotten all about it and a few days ago up popped Dr. David Schnare and provided this write-up. I am always interested in MORE information about subjects, and I think this is a valuable addition to the … [Read more...]

Purification Rundown Debunked

April 9, 2018 By Mike Rinder 244 Comments

My old friend Bruce Hines forwarded this recent National Geographic article (emphasis mine). It says in part: From infrared saunas to hot yoga, towel-soaking activities are being touted not only as relaxation tools, but also as ways to stay healthy by flushing out toxins. Too bad you can’t sweat away toxins any more than you can sweat actual bullets. Recently published calculations back up what scientists have been screaming into their pillows for years: Sweating out toxins is a myth. Humans sweat to cool ourselves, not to excrete waste products or clear toxic substances. That’s … [Read more...]

Seriously? A 10 Year Old Purif Completion…

August 1, 2016 By Mike Rinder 136 Comments

This was sent to me by a Special Correspondent. OMG. What is a mother doing putting a 10 year old through this program? Paying good money to have her engage in something that is at best completely useless and at worst physically harmful (See my earlier post Danger of Niacin).  Apparently this woman understands how stressful and physically debilitating the Purification program can be as in her proud "announcement" of the fact that her daughter didn't even complain about 5000mg of naicin and handfuls of vitamins she had to swallow daily. I guess this is another example of someone saved … [Read more...]

The Danger of Niacin

September 19, 2015 By Mike Rinder 651 Comments

I note at the outset, I am not a chemist or biologist. But I can read. This post was prompted by the ongoing saga of Narconon's implosion and many recent comments that niacin can be dangerous. I didn't pay a lot of attention as the comments usually went along with noting that it can be dangerous to sit in the sauna for too long. And my view of that is Duh.  Walking across the street is dangerous too. The claims for the wonders of the Purif may be typical scientology style hype, but the program itself seems generally benign and helpful. How can exercising, going in the sauna, sleeping … [Read more...]

Purif Promises

August 23, 2015 By Mike Rinder 108 Comments

Really? The Purif is going to prevent blood brain disorders? Skin cancer? Reproductive problems? They are actually claiming the the Purif is the "solution" -- no, the only solution to the bisphenol you accumulate from drinking for plastic water bottles that can cause cancer? And the kidney/liver damage you are suffering from associating with Mr. Clean. This is based on NOTHING. But promoted as truth. Surely there is some prohibition against making these sort of fraudulent assertions? When challenged on it, scientology claims this is a "spiritual" program. When they think nobody is … [Read more...]

Crazy L. Ron Hubbard's 1980 letter to Pres. Reagan explaining his plan for a national sales tax and abolishing the IRS. It was a key theme of #scientology's war on the IRS... until they got exemption. Do today's proponents know? Full letter in blog post.

@MikeRinder just finished reading your book. I've been anti-scientology for about 30 years. Your book was so informative as to the mindset and the bullying, gaslighting etc. Every through I watched the documentaries and listened to the podcast, I found this book so much (/2)
