This is one of those Hubbard statements that is used by registrars and fundraisers to convince people they must hand over their money now. And of course, as you can see, to persuade people to join staff. This is something a lot of cults do -- predict the end of the world to impress upon their followers the urgency of their mission. That Hubbard said this in 1965, announcing just 5 years left to get the job done, is ignored by the sheeple. If Hubbard said it, it must be true. The fact that he was proven SO wrong in his prediction is immaterial. His words are immortal, immutable and … [Read more...]
The Big Nothingburger Event
The "wider" Bridge is the same old Bridge t . But boy are they excited! They don't have to wear gloves or masks any more and "only" require a 3-day quarantine if you come from "out of town." (Of course, people from "out of town" are much more contagious than those "in town") What is so amazing is that they think this is what has been "holding them back" -- that they could not deliver the Purif and TR's and Objectives. They have a much more fundamental problem than that. They cannot get new people to come in for ANY service. A serious question -- how does it make the … [Read more...]
“Massive” Announcement! The Bridge is now “Wider”
The scientology world is going nuts with the "super-mega OMG!! announcement" that "everyone has been waiting for." It is BIG BIG BIG news. Because it's so monumental, it's going to be made at the next Graduation (since when was this a thing?) I haven't seen a frenzy like this for some time -- probably not since Super Power/Running Pgm. I would bet it has to do with the OEC training program Miscavige has been running. Only something he is personally involved in (and is taking credit for of course) could get this sort of attention. Probably some "lost tech" of how to get people on the … [Read more...]
Massive Dissemination Success in Los Angeles!!!!
Hot off the press... This is a new level of desperate. Announcing to the world that they got a single person to buy a book -- some person looking for a romantic partner who is apparently a nerd got caught on a MeetUp.com phishing expedition by a reg at LA Org. Take note of the defensive attitude in this "promotion" piece: "anything new or different gets rejected by those who don't understand it and haven't taken the time to understand it - thus through mental laziness find it easier to reject and discard it." So much to unpack in that sentence. First, … [Read more...]
Germany on Scientology
i Germany has just released its annual "Constitution protection report" for 2020. The last section of the report concerns scientology. One of our readers helped us with a translation: "Scientology Organization" (SO) The "Scientology Organization" (SO) intends to establish a worldwide "Scientology Society". The number of members in Germany in 2020, as in 2019, was around 3,500 people. In the year under review, SO online activity increased again as the otherwise usual information stands in cities throughout Germany could not be operated due to the corona pandemic. The SO … [Read more...]
Change the Future of This Planet Now
This is one of the more egregiously dishonest and distorted promo pieces I have seen from scientology in a while. And that is saying something. Of course, the first thing to note is that being on staff does absolutely nothing about the future of this planet. It doesn't even do anything about the future of the neighborhood these orgs are in. Not a thing changes with their presence. Though in many jurisdictions they are a drain on tax revenues that would otherwise generate from the property they occupy. But apart from that, zilch impact. But then it devolves into absurdity. Staff is … [Read more...]
Desperation in Atlanta
This is from commenter Doug Sprinkle. It is amazing how desperate these orgs are to get hold of anyone who has ever had anything to do with them. I asked him out of curiosity about his time at DC Org and he sent this write up. It is SO typical and so clearly PRECISELY what happened that I thought it worth posting her for posterity's sake. This IS how people are treated in scientology orgs. They're like cattle, herded in to be milked for all they've got and the staff believe they have every right to neglect/mistreat/abuse people who are PAYING THEM for service. It's such an upside down world in … [Read more...]
Scientology “Volunteers”
My recent post, Bonnie's Sad Tale, noted the use of the term "volunteer" repeatedly to describe working as an org staff member. I commented that this "volunteer" status is a legal sham. It is simply a way of taking advantage of the law -- and that no org staff are actually "volunteers." It's simple to prove. If they cease to "volunteer" before completing their contract, they are given a bill for services they have taken in "exchange" for their work (a freeloader bill). That, by definition, is not a volunteer. And they also have to sign a contract. And they are promised "wages." And they … [Read more...]
“Come On” Gibberish
Word is going out to try to get people to come back into orgs to watch the screening of a new "event." Apparently, "It's Time" and the subject is a "Brief Breath in Eternity" (which is a rather unfortunate subject for a briefing that is apparently about the amazing work scientology has done dealing with the "planetary bullbait" of COVID - 19) or how everyone is "stepping 3 feet back" (like 1 step forward and 3 back?) They are getting the hype out right away in typical scientology style -- "as soon as we have a date we will let you know." Hope the brief breath hasn't expired by the time … [Read more...]
“Men of Goodwill” — like Tony Muhammad?
Here are some words of wisdom from "HAPI" (the oddly inappropriate acronym for the always small and failing lone scientology outpost in Scotland). The pitch about "men of goodwill" is taken straight from the Way to Happiness. Of course, scientologists believe they are the epitome of "men of goodwill" as everything they do, including taking people's money and breaking up families, is for the good of mankind. But this promotional piece is worthy of note for what comes AFTER the helpful advice from Ron. The example they chose of a "man of goodwill." Tony Muhammad... Apparently this … [Read more...]
