Another in the ongoing series from Terra Cognita. Behind the Techno Eight Ball Scientology has always been a decade behind in technology with regards to books, tapes, CDs, film, computers, and database management. For a man who professed to be smarter than anyone else, LRH and his church have failed to keep up. Year after year, the church rolls out their version of something Microsoft and Sony already perfected and released. Not only is Scientology’s version out-of-date, it’s of lesser quality. Books Scientology has always harbored an unnatural fear of the digital world. As if … [Read more...]
Lies Scientology Recruiters Tell You
Many people wonder how people in this day and age are recruited into the Sea Org. If you have Google, I think the chances are that you might check it out before you sign a billion year contract for anything. And that is part of the answer as to who the few are that join the SO today. SO recruits come from two buckets: A. People in less fortunate countries in Eastern Europe and Venezuela who are offered a visa to the US, room, board and a job. B. Children of scientologists. The first category are pretty easy to understand. If you lived in Ukraine and had someone tell you … [Read more...]
Scientology and Suppressive Persons: Types A & B
Another provocative essay from our old friend Terra Cognita. Scientology and Suppressive Persons: Types A & B LRH said Suppressive Persons—SPs for short—were turned suppressive by getting profoundly crushed by another somewhere in the distant past—like way distant. Apparently, they’ve been stuck in this incident and fighting this battle ever since—sometimes for quadrillions of years. Everyone they see in present time is an enemy from this traumatic event. LRH wrote, “The technical fact is that they have a huge problem, long gone and no longer known even to themselves, which they use hi … [Read more...]
Fun Facts from AOLA
Here is another of the frequent scientology documents that prove they are lying about their "massive international expansion." Let's look at these one by one. "Highest Ever" number of people solo auditing at AOLA -- 220. Remember, AOLA is the Advanced Org for the entirety of the AMERICAS. Everywhere from Buenos Aires to Winnipeg and Hawaii to Barbados. 220 people (including staff and Sea Org members). Total. This is 220 out of ONE BILLION people in North and South America. That's about ONE out of every 4.5 MILLION people. According to National Geographic, you have a 1 in 3.7 million … [Read more...]
Teenage Mutant Ninja MAAs
Another provocative essay from our old friend Terra Cognita. Teenage Mutant Ninja MAAs Is it just me or have the staff in Department 3 at Scientology Advanced Orgs gotten younger? And younger. For those of you who’ve forgotten your Org Board, Dept 3, Inspections and Reports, is that section in charge of ethics and justice. And where people are sent when they’ve been bad boys and girls. It’s one thing to get unjustly raked over the coals by an MAA—Master at Arms; it’s another to get screamed at by a sanctimonious teenager. From Cradle to Sea Org Most, if not all, of these young … [Read more...]
L. Ron Hubbard on Cancer
This article was unearthed by my good friend Dave Richards, one of the most successful Executives in scientology history. I recalled reading it when it was first published, but had not been able to locate it since. It is a perfect example of the hypocrisy in scientology, and the "research" conducted by L. Ron Hubbard upon which he based his many absolutist (absurdist?) pronouncements. How does scientology square the fact that the ONLY cause of cancer, according to L. Ron Hubbard, is "a second-dynamic or sexual upset, such as the loss of children..." with their practice of forcing … [Read more...]
Being in Present Time…or not, In Scientology
Another provocative essay from our old friend Terra Cognita. Being in Present Time…or not, In Scientology One of the first courses every new Scientologist does is the Communications Course. The Comm Course consists of seven drills done repeatedly. LRH—some say it was Mary Sue—developed these drills to train auditors to better communicate with their PCs—pre-clears. Before Scientology, I’d never been exposed to anything to help me comfortably confront and to help facilitate the communication process. Especially with members of the opposite sex. For over a month, I honed these skills sitting … [Read more...]
Love and Compassion in Scientology
Another provocative essay from our old friend Terra Cognita. Love and Compassion in Scientology Love and compassion have always been given short shrift within the walls of Scientology. In fact, they’re rarely exhibited, almost as if they’re signs of weakness and not worthy of expression. Shakespeare said, “To be wise and love, Exceeds man’s might.” The church should pay attention. The Dalai Lama said, “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” Scientology would do well to follow his advice. Compassion Showing compassion for the … [Read more...]
Scientology/North Korea
A reader sent this to me the other day and I found it fascinating. The parallels between North Korea and scientology are unmistakeable. Below are excerpts from the article. I highlighted especially relevant sections. They need no explanation to anyone familiar with scientology's playbook that dictates how they must respond to "critics." Scientology is as clumsy and unbelievable as N. Korea in its denunciation of defectors. It's amusing to see: it seems everyone who leaves N. Korea or scientology is some form of sexual pervert, has stolen money or is being paid to say bad things about … [Read more...]
Scientology Lies — New Years’ Edition
Finally had a few minutes to peruse the latest International Scientology News recounting the epic, milestone New Years event. As usual, it is filled with hype, smoke, mirrors and lies. Just a few of the most glaring: This page is the "overview" of the magnificent accomplishments of 2016: 37 million "walked through our doors"? That is a ridiculous number. But let's take it at face value. Scientology claims "more than" 10,000 scientology "orgs, missions and associated groups" -- this means 3700 people each per YEAR. Or 10 per day. An average of 10 people per day darken … [Read more...]
